Chris Weidman's home unfortunately destroyed by Hurricane Sandy
Posted on October 30, 2012, 04:27 PM by Mike DrahotaWith the unfortunate natural disaster of Hurricane Sandy ravaging the East Coast, news comes that it has had its affect on the world of MMA as well. UFC Middleweight contender Chris Weidman, a native of New York state, has apparently lost his home in the devastating storm. This comes according to UFC Light Heavyweight Ryan Bader, who Tweeted the following:
Thoughts go out to Chris Weidman @ChrisWeidmanUFC & his family. Lost his home in the storm on the east coast. Please show him your support. @magllc @ufc
Bader is calling for support for a friend in Weidman, who has been training recently for his upcoming bout with Tim Boetsch at the stacked UFC 155 this December. Weidman has been actively campaigning for a shot at titleholder Anderson Silva since his systematic destruction of Mark Munoz this summer, even going so far as to state the champion has been ducking him. Now, he appears to have some more pressing issues other than fighting on his hands. Thoughts and support go to Weidman and all the families affected by the powerful storm.

That's fvcked up. Homie... Weidman... Wish him much better luck, hope it gets sorted out.
****
Unfortunately I bet Chris is wishing he took a fight now instead of trying to wait for Amazon, in a desperate time like this the extra 100K (guess) would have been handy
You alright Keith?
The article above you talks about a fight at 155 with Tim Boestch. He's not waiting on Anderson. He's simply calling him out for not fighting him.
Hey keith, do you get all these damn generic comments from hallmark cards?
Its a mans home being destroyed here we're talking about. Have some respect,
and shut the eff up
In Keith's defense, the extra money would be helpful in Weidman's situation, as far as replacing material belongings. Though he stated the obvious in a blunt fashion, I don't think he was trying to disrespect Weidman, simply voicing an unfortunate truth. Hopefully Chris and his family are together and healthy. That is the most important thing.
Sure ...keith,
Incase you havent noticed hes fighting Boetsch,
Keiths defense my ass, pathetic making multiple accounts to defend yourself
I'm not Keith, and I didn't say I agreed with the way he said it. It is an unfortunate truth that he is going through an expensive tragedy and some extra cash would be helpful in a time like this. That's all I said in defense of Keith. Obviously, the extra cash is probably the last thing on Weidman's mind right now though, and like I said before, hopefully he and his family are all together and healthy.
haha wtf find it funny people think I made a second account. I've been a fan of Weidman since he debuted against Sakara, always enjoyed his heart, spirit and personality.
I meant no disrespect, all I was trying to say is in harsh times like these maybe he would have been better off with that extra pay day then waiting around for Silva and even though he's fighting Boetsch he could have fought before that.
Ahwell you guys can think what you want I know I meant well
P.s. no idea how I got Anderson mixed up with Amazon haha
That sucks for him.
He's calling out the wrong man, though.
Man...that is sad, hope they are all ok....
all the best to him and all the rest of the people who lost their homes and belongings due to the hurricane, hopefully no lives were lost, keep your head up Chris! go away Sandy, you big meanie! :p
Terrible News...
