A sign of things to come?

Chael Sonnen once again proved he's deep under Anderson Silva's skin, after delivering a memorable performance during yesterday's UFC 148 pre-fight press conference. Sonnen continued to open workout session, where he demonstrated a never seen before arsenal of spinning backfists, spinning back kicks and knees. It seems like Sonnen plans on surprising Anderson Silva, as the countdown to UFC 148 currently stands at T minus 72 hours.

    Knees, no way fo Sonnen.

The only moment to throw knees in this fight will be in the clich and you don't want to be in the clich with Anderson Silva's knees.

Another "Chael is dead" reference. I am so sick of Silva fanboys talking like this is a fight to the death, not a MMA match.

The only thing that is going to die is the misplaced idea that Silva is invincible.

Silva fans are scared so they feel compelled to try and look tough by saying Silva will kill or ktfo Sonnen. Its the small man complex.

This fight can go either way, Im hoping Sonnen takes it. But 95% of Silva fans are delusional and in denial. They are useless to try and reason with. (Ironic since they whine about Sonnen being delusional)

Weak times 1 million. When they both retire, you won't be able to compare the two.

Anderson will be viewed as a legend because of his skills and the way he dismatled people.

Chael will be viewed as a sideshow clown who was banned for a year for insanely elevated, unatural testosterone levels. A man found guilty of money laundering/fraud, and the man who said Lance Armstrong gave himself cancer for using peds, then got caught using peds.

    What a role model.

DLS the only thing I'm scared of is getting caught trying to sneak a bottle of Crown Royal in the fight Saturday night.

Really? What was his testosterone level? (hint his testosterone level doesn't tell you anything about his level) So smart guy, what was his insanely high level?

it was 16.9:1 you don't have to look far to find it. By comparison the Overeem test came out at 14:1 and we all know how "drug free" he is.

I'm surprised Sonnens Pee didn't melt the test beaker and burn a hole to the very centre of the earth!

Johndo11 you are falling right into the trap. His T:E ratio doesn't specifically say anything about the levels of testosterone in his body.

Johndo 16.9:1 is not a testosterone level. Did you even read the article or are you just regurgitating what you have heard other Silva fanatics say? The normal range for total testosterone varies a little bit from source to source but is somewhere between 250 - 800 depending on age and other factors.

The testosterone to epitestosterone ratio that you are quoting a result for tells you nothing about his level at all. What is says is that of the two isomers of testosterone in the body (T and Epi-T) the ratio was 16.9 to 1. This could mean that testosterone was high or epitestosterone was low or some combination of both.

In short, you have no idea what his level was (and neither do I despite looking fairly hard to find it).

What is the significane of the T:Epi-T ratio being 16.9:1?? It means that Sonnen had taken an artificial Testosterone. But that's the only conclusion you can draw from it. It doesn't tell you how much. It also is not comparable to Overeem's ratio because we don't know how low (or normal or high) the epitestosterone levels were in each man.

What you and I wish we had (but we don't) is the follow up test that would be a blood test of the testosterone level.

So, what do you know about the scoundrel? He was taking a prescription testosterone replacement and he didn't report it properly. He (claims he) spoke to Kaiser verbally but didn't fill out the form. It was his responsibility to fill out the proper forms. He's stupid.

It's a fight, not a competition for who the best spokesmodel is.

Does Sonnen's career compare with Silva's? You'd have to be high to think so. But that doesn't mean Silva win, that's why they fight.

Frankie Edgar's career didn't really compare to BJ's, Werdum to Fedor's, etc.

Legends either retire young or get beat and the guy who does it doesn't need a better career, he just has to be better for one night.

I agree im a fan of both, and a long time fan of Chaels since I saw him in the WEC, to mke these statemens like this is one sided fight is insane, you dont know how the fight is going to turn out esp judging how the last fight went, just sit back and enjoy it, and stop with these bold one liners like you have a crystal ball. its going to be a good fight peroid, just enjoy it, and stop having your own battle in the forums.

    It's an open workout.

The point is to put on a show for the fans, not to actually do a serious workout.

If Chael was actually planning some new techniques for the fight "to surprise Anderson," he certainly wouldn't be dumb enough to show them here. If there's anything going on here besides just messing around, maybe it's just to give Silva another thing to think about.

I guarantee you are not going to see Chael throw any spinning back kicks in the actual fight.

LOL!!! Thats what i was thinking.

Without artificial testosterone putting his levels at 16:1 T:E, without Anderson being injured, and with the fact that he couldn't finish ANderson with his pillow hands the first time, despite being on top for 20 MINUTES!!! AND LANDING 320 BLOWS!!!.....

.....I'd say Chael is in serious trouble

Finally, another person that can recognize the 3 most important points of the fight:

    1. Anderson is injury free this time

    2. Chael will not be cheating this time (presumably)

    3. Chael had no power in his hands while cheating; definately has none while fighting fair

This is going to be another highlight reel finish, and I expect Sonnen to retire after this loss and join the WWE.
