Brian Stann: Bisping, my shoulder will be ready, lets do it
Posted on July 4, 2012, 06:20 PM by Mike SearsonIt is ironic that on the Fourth of July that an American and an Englishman are talking about fighting. That is exactly what happened today between American Brian Stann and British Michael Bisping, however.
Bisping’s recovery from recent knee surgery is going well and the Middleweight contender revealed on the UFC Tonight show that he has a couple of opponents in mind: “I was speaking to Joe Silva quite recently, and I’m hoping to fight at UFC 152 in Toronto. I suggested a couple of potential matchups, one being Brian Stann. I know he’s got a shoulder injury, so I’m not sure if that will make it or not, but I’d like to fight Brian. He’s an incredible fighter and certainly somebody who would move me toward a title shot.”
Brian Stann apparently was watching and today told MMAWeekly.com: “I think that's a fight that I need to jump at because he's obviously ranked higher than I am. He's a guy that's right up there in the mix for a title shot, which is what we all want. Of course I want to fight Michael Bisping. He's a star in the UFC, he makes big time money, he's got everything that everybody else wants, and he's earned it. So I want to take that. I saw the interview and I know my shoulder will be ready for September 22 in Toronto and that would be a great honor to put that fight on for the fans.”
Stann told his followers on Twitter, this afternoon:

I love Brian Stann he really is a man in every sense of the word, he has paid for me when he fought chael to fly down to Texas a hotel for 4 days that was .7 miles away from the venue, and bought me a ticket, however I got sick at the last minute and needed emergency surgery. I was so embarresed to tell him I couldnt go, after he put the money forth, and we dont know each other he just knew that I was a wounded vet. Luckily I was able to get him some medical paper work so he could get a airline refund, and hotel refunded. Just wanted to share something that he did for a stranger.

Brian Stann is an awesome guy and if there is anyone out there that you would want to see win a title its him.
Be nice to see an American company pay an American hero the type of money Bisping recieves...!
Would be a sick match, two guys that are really good in the stand up but I think the biggest differences are Bisping's grappling and Brian's power.
I would probbaly go for a Bisping dec. or maybe even submission but definitely wouldn't be surprised if Stann got the win.
In my eyes bisping deserves the title shot. 4 wins n an extremely questionable loss to Chael. And I'd personally see stann as a step away from the title but the MW division is so messed up right now who knows whose in contention and whose going to push you closer to the title not to mention injuries etc

Injuries scapped their fight, so Botch replaced and Lombard is fighting him now.

He is no longer active duty man, and you have a very narrow minded view of what the military actually does, its not all about fighting in the sand for oil all branches actually do alot of great things for this world.
I'm not American but I'd have to agree with David even though I can see how the "weaking" is going. How do you presume to know that Brian doesn't know what he is fighting for. At least he had enough conviction to fight for what he believed in and the guts to carry it off.

The Military provide aid, respond to natural disasters, protect borders, provide employment, establish bases for the protection of other countries from invasion,. Look at the problems with North Korea, disputes between Taiwan and China, disputes over territory islands on the Philippine coast. The list goes on and on. Disputes between palestinians and Israel.
If a dictator terrorises its own people, maliciously damages worldwide economies, allows terrorism to flourish, create oil trade restrictions and price inflation then the US has no choice but to protect its people from hardship. Everything has a snow ball effect globally.
If you want your freedom and democracy then you have no choice but to protect it otherwise others will take it from you.
