“Bigfoot” Silva vs. Andrei Arlovski Set To Headline UFC Fight Night 51 In Bra?ilia

The UFC’s debut in Brazil’s capital has received its first match-up.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski and Bra?ilia’s own Antônio Silva have verbally agreed to face off against each other in the main event of the Fight Night card according to a report from Combate.

“”Bigfoot” was hoping for a grudge match with Josh Barnett to settle an old feud for his return to the Octagon after a nine month layoff due to a failed drug test. But, he will settle for a rematch with “The Pit Bull” from their clash in Strikeforce back in 2010.

UFC Fight Night 52 is set to take place at the Gi?asio Nilson Nelson Arena and will be the first event the promotion has hosted in Bra?ilia Brazil. The event will take place on September 13 is expected to be available to watch on Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. No other fights have been announced for the card.

The bout will be “Bigfoot’s” first fight inside the Octagon following his nine month ban due to failing his post-fight drug test after his match with Mark Hunt in December. The battle originally ended in a draw and earned both men “Fight of the Night” bonuses but following Silva’s failed test it was overturned to a no-contest. Hunt was also awarded his opponents bonus money as well as his additional win bonus.

With his no-contest against Hunt, Silva is now 2-2(1) inside the Octagon with both his loses coming against the heavyweight division’s reigning champion Cain Velasquez. His two wins in that time both ended by knockout, finishing Travis Browne and Alistair Overeem.

“The Pit Bull” will be looking to make his next fight in the UFC a memorable one, after taking a lacklustre decision over Brendan Schaub in his return to the Octagon. The former champion is currently on a three-fight winning streak and is 7-1(1) in his last 8 fights, with his only defeat coming against Anthony Johnson.
