Bellator 106 Medical Suspensions: Joe Riggs Possibly Out For Six Months

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has released its medical suspensions for Bellator 106 and the most notable fighter being sidelined is “Fight Mater” tournament winner, Joe Riggs.

Riggs put on a workman like performance in beating his 170 pound opponent, Mike Bronzoulis and taking home the 100K purse. Although he won the fight handily and completely dominated Bronzoulis on the ground, Riggs appeared to be faring worse in the stand-up, with the result being that he may have sustained a fracture to his right orbital bone. Subsequently, Riggs has been given a six month suspension.

Other than Riggs, the only other fighter to receive a significant medical suspension was Alejandro Garcia, who was suspended by the commission for 180 days due to a possible arm fracture.
