Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski has had a pretty solid career in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) thus far. He is a former UFC heavyweight champion and is riding a four-fight win streak, as well as a putting together two-straight wins since returning to the Octagon at UFC 174 last June, after competing in other organizations for six years.

“The Pitbull” is now slated to take on Travis Browne at UFC 187 on May 23, 2015. With a win, Arlovski would put his name right near the top of a short list of heavyweight contenders. When put in perspective, the Belarusian fighter has definitely enjoyed his fair share of success throughout his career.

However, there is one moment, one fight that still haunts the 36-year-old. That moment is when he was viciously knocked out by arguably one of the greatest fighters to ever walk the planet, Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko at an Affliction event back in 2009.

Speaking with Submission Radio, Arlovski gave his thoughts on the topic, noting that the fight still gives him nightmares as well as saying that he would love a rematch with “The Last Emperor”:

“My nightmare is f***ing when [Fedor] Emelianenko knocked my ass out in Affliction. You know it’s ridiculous. It was so far back, and four years ago it was the biggest fight of my life and you know I fought like – I don’t know – like I just have bad words. I did what I wasn’t supposed to do and I jumped this flying knee, then I gave him a present.”

“”I would love it if the UFC would sign Fedor Emelianenko. I want a rematch!”

Unfortunately for Arlovkski and fight fans who would like to see this fight, it’s unlikely that it will ever take place. Emelianenko is 38-years-old, retired, and hasn’t fought since 2012. The odds are against the Russian great making a return to fighting, and if he were he likely wouldn’t come to the UFC, as he is set to appear at a Bellator event in the near future.

However, Arlovski as well as fight fans can continue to dream that one day we will see “The Last Emperor” inside of the Octagon. Do you ever see Fedor returning?
