Anderson Silva will fight whoever the UFC wants - St. Pierre or Jones

With Georges St-Pierre's victory over Carlos Condit, it looks like all systems are a go for the potential super fihgt between St-Pierre and middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Interestingly enough, St-Pierre wouldn't commit to the fight after his victory and Silva never set foot into the Octagon despite being present at the fight.

Silva spoke earlier in the day about the possibility of fighting St-Pierre in what would be the biggest fight in UFC history.

"I have my plans. First, the people are talking Anderson and St-Pierre," the middleweight champion said at a press conference before the start of UFC 154 before touching on another fight that the public wants to see."Now the people are talking Anderson and Jon Jones."

Usually, Silva would squash any possibility of a Jon Jones fight but he seems to have softened his stance on the other big fight.

"My first goal is the Georges St-Pierre fight, the superfight. And the second goal, maybe Jon Jones. I don't know," Silva said before leaving the decision in the hands of the UFC President. "This is not my decision. This is Dana White's decision."

It's quite the interesting change of tune from Silva. But who knows if he really means what he says. Just a few days ago, Silva spoke of a long hiatus. Now he is open to either fight? Our money is on the Silva-GSP fight happening in early 2013. Anything after that is extraordinarily cloudy.

kick ass cause im sorry but Hendricks has earned the fight and is a true contender great wrestling and one hit power ,.... I think he is being way over looked he won the title shot with GSP 2nite .... SILVA/GSP would be

awesome but the division isnt cleared out they both fought 2nite so timing is great Silva said he doesnt want to fight til end of yr which makes the Jones fight perfect and i really like there size and ect

is really close to the same

If you look at all the comments made from Silva, GSP and Jones its always hot and cold. Mainly cold from GSP and Jones but both from Silva. In the end Silva is right it's down to Dana and the UFC to make the fight happen. Dana talks a lot about making super fights but rarely does if you look at the history if the UFC, unless your name is BJ of course.

Wow, if Silva fights Jones that will be the biggest MMA PPV in history.

However, if the fight does indeed happen, I think if Jones gets him down on the ground, Silva would be in serious trouble. Jone's ground and pound is SO devastating with those atomic elbows... If the fight hits the canvas (with Jones on top) I'm not sure how Silva would win.

Fingers crossed for this to happen!

Said it before and ill say it again. If Silva fights GSP first, and wins then we get to see both fights. If he fights Jones first win or loose the GSP fight will never happen.

Silva knows that Jones can and will beat him, simple as that.

I don't think Silva wants to risk the Jones fight. A lost to Jones would over shadow his career. IMO. And the same for Jones. If Jones were to lose and then Silva retires, that'll haunt Jones' career. That is a lost that neither would be able to erase, considering Silva's age.

It doesn't matter how they "feel" afterwards, that fight NEEDS to happen.

Ever since Chael started breaking his balls on him knowing English, his interviews turned to shit. Let the man speak portuguese, he knows English but obviously isn't good at it.

If I was betting I would put my money on Silva vs GSP. From UFC stand point it can only make sense for Silva to fight GSP before Jones if that does become a reality. Hypothetically if GSP beat Silva, that would eliminate the possibility of Silva vs Jones. If Silva beats GSP, then the Jones fight makes sense. If however, Silva were to fight Jones first and win, there would be no point in fighting a smaller GSP.

Honestly though I have a feeling GSP doesn't whole heartily want a fight with Silva...and I can't say I blame him, hes the GOAT

I was really never a silva fan, nor did I believe that he was the greatest, but him being opened in fighting jones makes me a fan now. If he beats gsp and jones, I think no one will deny that he is the greatest of all time. Mad props to silva for dropping the "I won't fight jones bc he's my friend" bs and stepping it up; true fighter.
