In this video courtesy of MMAHeat.com, UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva boxes with Brazilian soccer star Ronaldo de Lima and trains with several members of his team. The champ appears in a very lighthearted mood, a large contrast from the angry and vengeful Silva that we have seen as of late. His famed trainer Steven Seagal makes an appearance and shows some of his standup skills. Silva poses for some group photos and remains in what appears to be a very relaxed state. Which Anderson Silva will show up to the Octagon on Saturday night?

Steven Seagal spent the last year teaching Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida a new striking technique, which he invented himself. It's called the jab. I've heard it's a straight punch thrown with the lead hand and could potentially be very effective in combat sports, especially boxing. Seagal is the only one who knows how to properly teach this technique, and if Silva throws it correctly in this fight, there is no way Chael can defeat him.

When I used to compete there was a guy in our club who was a soccer player and his leg kicks were wicked. At that time you could only hit the back of the leg / knee and not the side but he would shred guys.

I can believe it man, look at aldo he had high hopes to be a football player, didn't make it in football, but used what he learned and applied it to mma, possibly the best leg kicker in mma. Who knows in the future of the sport you might get guys training a little bit of football (or what you call soccer) to help build that crazy power leg kick, GSP is the guy who likes to train outside the box so to speak, implementing new things into his workout, maybe someone will do a little football and see how it works out.

There is no reason for me to explain who he is, I know who he is. I played "football" for 10 years.

For as much hell as other countries say America is a judgmental group of people. The way other countries immediately stereotype/judge everyone as a whole from here, is extremely hypocritical.

This is one thing that is wrong with the world, not everyone is the stereotype that you are assuming.

I did not write that because of some stereotype, just based on the fact that football(soccer) is not that popular in the States as is in other parts of the world. That said if you ask me to name 5 american football stars I think I am not able to. As for the grammar, I totally understood what you were saying.

Hunter you played soccer for 10 years wouldn't have pegged you on that. What year you stop playing?

    I played for around 10 too, I stopped when I was 12.

Yeah, I played Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer til the age 14. I started Soccer the earliest, at 5. I was pushed really hard to excel by my pops, and lost interest in all of it, it just wasn't fun anymore to me and i got mixed up partying and trying to fit in at a new school.

Now though I would like to join one of those co-ed leagues when im healed up, for fitness and try and meet hot, in shape soccer chicks. There are a few organizations like that in Dallas.

Good to see the REAL Ronaldo! I think when Anderson signed w/ Nike, it was more like the 'R9' label, which would be compared in the States as "Air Jordan.' Which is under Nike...

Also, I think the team that Spider supports in Brazil, Ronaldo used to play for.

They are both probably the biggest stars in Brazil...ever.

It look like, just after they started sparring, Ronaldo would have tagged Anderson with a straight right if he'd followed through?
