Alexander Gustafsson looking for a stand-up battle with Shogun RuaPosted on November 13, 2012, 06:39 PM by Anton Gurevich
Few weeks after Georges St. Pierre and Carlos Condit settle the score inside the Octagon, Alexander Gustafsson will be looking to make another step towards the UFC Light Heavyweight title shot, this time facing Mauricio Rua at UFC on FOX. For Gustafsson, this will be eighth fight inside the Octagon. He's currently 6-1 in the UFC, enjoying a five-fight win streak.
Gustafsson is ranked strong in the Light Heavyweight rankings, with several experts and websites putting "The Mauler" in their Top 5 lists. Gustafsson's only loss is to Phil Davis, who will be facing Forrest Griffin at UFC 155. If Davis wins against Griffin, there's a good chance that he will find himself facing Alexander Gustafsson for the second time, in what would be a very interesting test for the Swede.
