Akira Corassani Broke His Nose In Five Places At TUF 18 Finale

Featherweight Akira Corassani didn’t quite put forth the performance he wanted to at last night’s TUF 18 Finale.

Corassani faced off with Maximo Blanco on the last bout of the preliminary card. He won via disqualification after Blanco nailed him with a huge illegal knee that badly disoriented him.

The Swedish TUF 14 veteran was in bad shape, and he only became more and more out of it. That lead some to believe that Corassani was milking the injury, but he posted a photo of the X-rays of his nose on his Instagram page, proving that it was broken in five places:

Corassani explained the scenario:

“Broke my nose in 5 places which was not as bad as the concussion from the knee. The dizziness got worse gradually and I was rocked as hell. Truthfully I don’t remember much but this was not the way I wanted to win, I was more than ready for this fight and due to a stupid move the fight was ruined. Thanks for all your support and I’ll be back soon!”

It looks like there is some serious concrete proof that Corassani was seriously injured by Blanco’s strike. His hand and knee were noticeably on the ground, and Blanco has been in similar situations before.
