Yushin "The Thunder" Okami proved his worth inside the Octagon once again, with a well-earned Decision victory over "The Philipino Wrecking Machine"Mark Munoz . Okami managed to successfully eliminate Munoz' Wrestling advantage with a well-timed sprawls, by maintaining a good distance throughout the fight.

Mark Munoz failure to execute his gameplan was a key factor in the fight, allowing Yushin Okami to establish his punishing range. Munoz had no Plan B against Okami, constantly making pointless takedown attempts. Both fighters had their striking moments during the fight, with Mark Munoz rocking Yushin Okami with a good left hook in the Second Round.

In the end, Okami outpointed Munoz via a Split Decision. The fact that one of the judges awarded a victory to Mark Munoz surprised many fans at the SportsArena in San Diego, who cheered for the second Japanese victory this evening.

Okami's takedown in this fight provides food for thoughts about Chael Sonnen's Wrestling before the bout against Anderson Silva next weekend. Sonnen dominated Okami with takedowns in their bout at UFC 104, something that one of the best Wrestlers in the game Mark Munoz failed to achieve.

Okami didnt have to prove anything here Munoz did...the only thing I disagreed with was the split decision. Okami is a better fighter no matter where the fight goes and he wins even if they fight 5 more times

I'm Filipino but I didnt see Munoz winning any of the rounds. Okami's takedown defense really showed lots of improvement. But I think there's still a lot of room to grow for the striking of both fighters. Bounce back Munoz

I cannot believee Munoz did not change his strategy through out the fight. If the single takedown is not working, why gas yoursself over it. What was his corner thinking, He should of kept it standing, and he would of had a better chance to win the fight. I had it 3-0 Okami. How was this a SPLIT?

I really wish judges take take down defenses into more consideration when scoring each round. This was a unanimous decision win for Okami in my view.

it was a good fight both had their share of the light, but muniz should have had a plan b in the fight just in case his plan does not work, but munoz is still new to the game he will make his adjustments and bounce back in the next fight.

Munoz really should've let his hands go more & realized that his take downs were going nowhere.

Yeah you could tell they weren't judging takedown defense or else Okami would have won all three rounds. Munoz had is little moment in the second round, but again he was outworked the entire fight, Okami maintained control and was able to land punches when he wanted to. Munoz kind of disappointed me, I thought if he wasn't better skilled he'd be at least smart enough to have more than one plan. Wasting his time trying to hold on to Okami's hips was pointless, it did more to weaken his arms than it did to weaken Okami's legs, and you could tell he was completely outmatched in the stand-up, despite not being at much of a disadvantage with reach.
