With a convincing win at UFC on Fuel TV 3, The Korean Zombie may face winner of Jose Aldo-Erik Koch
Posted on May 16, 2012, 10:48 AM by Mike DrahotaIn this short video courtesy of FuelTV.com, Ariel Helwani details a conversation he had with UFC President Dana White to clarify the top of the Featerweight division. With Jose Aldo set to face Erik Koch at UFC 149 in Canada, White had ranked Hatsu Hioki as the second-best Featherweight in the world. However, Hioki took a fight on June 22nd, and White has stated that the vastly impressive submission victory of The Korean Zombie last night showed him enough to grant Sung Jung the title shot. If it materializes this could be a potentally amazing fight for the fans, and perhaps a test for the dominant champion Aldo. Who would win that battle?

"Winner of Jose Aldo-Erik Koch"....LOL
Well I guess anything can happen in MMA......
It's a shame because MMA fighters quickly lose hype and putting Zombie against Aldo the now would be great and get a lot of steam behind it, while the Koch fight is probably going to get very little interest.
Zombie vs Aldo just makes so much sense for the growth of 145p division right now as they are by FAR the two biggest stars.
I was very impressed with Zombie's performance. I honestly expected Poirier to have very little trouble picking him apart on the feet. He is on a 3 fight win streak, and finished all 3 fights very impressively. That said, his record in ZUFFA's 145 pound division is not overwhelming at 3-2, and his losses include a brutal KO to George Roop. I still think he's a win a way from deserving a title shot.
I say give him Hioki, and the winner of that fight gets a title shot.
