Wanderlei Silva speaks about UFC 139 fight against Cung Le
Posted on September 26, 2011, 10:34 PM by Trent ReinsmithThe last time we saw Wanderlei Silva in the Octagon it wasn’t for very long, as Chris Leben knocked him out in a scant 27 seconds. After that bout, at UFC 132, UFC President Dana White said, "I think it's one of those ones where I'd like to sit down and talk to him and kind of Chuck Liddell him into it,” referencing the retirement of “The Iceman.”
It seems as if that conversation never happened, as Silva was tapped to replace Vitor Belfort on the UFC 139 fight card. Belfort was originally booked to face Cung Le, but Belfort was forced to withdraw from the November 19th event due to injury.
Silva recently spoke about his upcoming fight with the former Strikeforce Champion Le who will be making his UFC debut on the card, which will take place at San Jose, CA’s HP Pavilion.

If Belfort is the 2nd best at 185 then it truly is a weak division. Belfort has how many losses? How many fights has belfort won at 185 btw?
Take off the shades.
Wanderlei i love you too! LETS GET THIS WIN
Belfort was always a hard debut fight especially after not competing for a year. I like Silva/Le a lot more, both fighters are still getting tough competition yet both have a chance in winning it. Im going for Le via TKO using a leg kick heavy gameplan...
Man, I love both of these guys, I just hope they went out for a War and get the Fight of the Night, may be Fight of the Year !
I can't help but think what a match up between a prime Wand vs Jones would be like. Wand has the perfect pressing fight game to get after Jones & nullify his reach advantage.
THEN WAND COULDN'T LOSE!
"Don't be sad, Cung Le" lol
