Vadim Finkelstein says the fight against Lesnar is no longer possible; Fedor will fight "in between" before facing Werdum

M-1 Global President Vadim Finkelstein revealed in an exclusive interview for LowKick.com Community, that "The Last Emperor" Fedor Emelianenko will square off against the yet unnamed opponent, befor he gets a rematch against Fabricio Werdum. Fedor Emelianenko was in Atlantic City, NJ this weekend for the M-1 Selection show, revealing to the popular MMA video blogger Bloodstain Lane that he is looking to sign a new 4 or 6-fight deal with Strikeforce.

Also, to the disappointment of Mixed Martial Arts fans around the World, Vadim Finkelstein declared that the fight against reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar "is no longer possible". This may be a result of Dana White's negative comments after Fedor's defeat against Werdum, when the UFC President stated numerous times that his promotion is no longer interested in "overrated" Fedor.

Here's what Vadim Finkelstein had to say about Dana White, M-1 Fighter reality Show and Fedor's next fight:

How can you describe the current relationship with the UFC President Dana White, and what's the main obstacle that prevents to sign a deal with the UFC?
First of all, we never had any sort of relationship with Dana White, and secondly, he said that he was no longer interested in Fedor – we should have expected this. We want to arrange a fight with Brock Lesnar, but I think it's no longer possible.

What is the main difference between M-1 Fighter reality show and the UFC's TUF?
I have not seen the Ultimate Fighter even once. So I cannot say how they differ. But I know exactly what we are trying to achieve by launching the M-1 Fighters: We want our guys to get recognized. Reality show reveals them as individuals. They are the same as all the guys, but they have their own purpose. In the project, we see them as interesting, good and spiritual people. They are simple and good guys. And of course we want this show to improve the popularity of MMA in Russia.

Scott Coker said that he thought the M-1 "will have no choice" regarding who will be Fedor's next opponent. There was a talk about the fights against Big Foot Silva, Sergei Kharitonov and of course Alistair Overeem. What can you say about these plans, and will you insist on an immediate rematch between Fedor and Werdum?

I heard that Fabricio Werdum postponed his surgery, and will not be able to fight Fedor in the near future. We are currently working on an intermediate fight for Fedor Emelianenko. We'll know soon who will be his next opponent. But I still think that the rematch against Fabricio Werdum is what MMA fans would like to see.

One word...BULLSHIT! You are going to tell me Vadim has not seen one single episode of the TUF since it first aired in 05'? Where does he live, under a rock!?!?

Well, Dana White did it to himself. I really would of hoped he would of been professional enough and not burn bridges. He let his EGO get the best of him like always! I hope he comes out with an apologetic statement and makes this fight happen. If he says UFC has the best HW's then let other ORGS challenge them and most definitely make FEDOR vs BROCK happen after Fedor redeems himself vs Werdum.

If you are M-1, would you kiss up to Dana White after all the shit he talked?

Do you see Microsoft talking shit to Google because Google stock is at $600 per share? NO... It's business ethics.

The fight was never had a chance of happening UFC won't co promote, and M1 wont let fedor fight unless they can leach onto another company, and take half the revenue as well as a paycheck for Fedor.

If Dana White's job is to give fans the fights they want to see, Dana White is not doing his job. Almost every serious fan wants to see Fedor go against some of the top brass in the UFC, even if they are not Fedor fans. It would make for great interest, especially if you marketed strongly like the UFC usually does. But Dana White and crew are still more concerned about waging their so-called "war" against Strikeforce, a company that has every bit as much right to exist as any other.

And ONE submission loss and suddenly Fedor is not of interest to the UFC any more. Anyone that does not see the propaganda at work here is either not paying attention or blind.

Listen,I think Dana White is an asshole who is full of himself, but you can't blame him for Fedor not wanting to fight in the UFC.Fedor and his management knows that he is washed up and that he would get his ass pounded if he fought Lesner, thats why they are picking his fights so carefully.Hell,he's even trying to aviod fighting the champion of his own League.

He's stated before he wanted to fight Lesnar, before he was even champ. Yes Fedor's management has been a little fickle and Strikeforce has been a bit confused as to who shoudl be fighting who for the championship belt, but you prove my point regarding the UFC propaganda mill.

Russian people are very loyal. Fedor trains at Vadims facility and fights for his promotion, unless Dana will co promote Fedor will never fight for the UFC bottom line.

Putin is not the greatest human being so i wont mind Fedor kicking his ass. And Dana white sucks at negotiating, he insults the guy repeatedly and then claims ' I did everything in my power to sign this guy' Start by being respectful and maybe that first deal would have been signed. Now i understand co promotion is difficult for the ufc.

To be honest, after Lesnar's last performance, i have no interest in watching him fight Fedor. If he was to fight a true UFC HW fighter, I'd love to see a fight bettween him and Velasquez.

Unfortunately it is clear that due to that leach Filkenstein that would never happen...but I have no problem in watching him in 3 more fights against Big Foot, Overeem, and Werdum.

After that he can retire as one of the best (if not the best) fighters ever lived.

On this very site, before the Carwin vs Lesnar fight. People were talking about how Carwin would match up with Fedor. To be fair, not many said Carwin could come out with the W, but everyone was hell keen to see that fight. And then Lesnar did the job on the night, finished the fight aswell which was great to see, and now people just move onto the next upcoming thing.

For him to say he's never seen TUF is a load of crap. How else would they be copying the UFC's blueprint.

Fedor should just fight Alistair since Werdum is on the shelf for the time being.

Not sure much people ever really believe Fedor vs Brock would ever happen anyway.

Lol, he doesn't want to fight Overeem. Thats the logical fight, yet they have discussed fighting everyone but The Reem. Other than mentioning his name here and there just to save face. I mean, they should be like "We want the Champ!" Obviously Coker would have no problem making that happen.... So whats the hold up? Take a guess....

It does not matter how hard you punch, what matters is time and accuracy just like in any other sport. Ali or Hollyfield never had a hard punch like Tyson or Forman, but they were very accurate.

I think Cain has a better chance against Fedor than Brock.

Actually how hard you punch does have a lot to do with whether or not you can knock someone out. Also, suggesting that Shane wasn't accurate or used bad timing.

He landed on Lesnar, probably a dozen times with clean accurate shots. Before his arms got tired, he was hitting Lesnar probably about as hard as Fedor and Cain hit combined.

Are you going to say that that elbow to Lesnar's chin could have been more accurate? Lesnar's face was cut and mashed from top to bottom. He took a lot more damage than Fedor would have been able to deliver. IMO.

Rogers landed a lot of punches on Fedor and it looked like clean shots. But according to Fedor, Rogers never landed a clean shot. The same with Shane, it looks like he did, but probably, was not clean. Shane told himself that no matter how big your are you will fall. I said before that Brock has a good chin, but I believe that Fedor has enough power to drop Brock if he makes it clean, so does Cain.

Did you just compare Rogers landing on Fedor to Shane landing on Lesnar? You're not being objective dude. I can't think of a more devastating 2 minute flurry from any fighter ever. Lesnar's face messed up, Fedor survived a couple decent punches, and a lot of grazing strikes. Look at the Fujita fight, you can't argue that that punch that staggered Fedor was anything like the many shots that landed on Lesnar. Really, how could his face be mangled if not from Shane's punching?... I think Shane was as shocked as everybody else when Lesnar just stood up.

Aight so I went back and watched both fights before responding on this one. Kazuyuki Fujita thew a popping hook to the top of the head that sent Fedor to his heals. While a good portion of Shanes punches were down the pipe. Compairing these 2 punches are like apples and oranges. Past that the only reason Fedor survived that fight was because he was physically stronger than Fujita and pulled him down. He wouldnt do that with any of the top heavy weights in the ufc.

You are exactly right about Fujita! Fujita had one, but very clean and precise punch. Fedor landed a clean punch at Arlovksi, unlike Rogers when he hit Arlovski 5 times before he droped him. Look at Shanes clean punch at Gonzaga, only one punch, but right at his chin!

You're really not being objective Conan, I assume because you don't like Brock? I can say at this point that I don't like Fedor anymore. He's robbed me of a potential what, 8 real fights? Were he to do what any real champion shouldn't have to be convinced to do. He'd go after the real title. Dana was throwing hookers through Fedor's hotel windows, and offering mountains of money like he's never going to see with that absurd excuse of an organization M-1. No SANE human being believes that any fighter would prefer to be somewhere other than the UFC at this point. Other than the weight divisions in the WEC that the UFC doesn't have of course. Fedor saw that Pride super-stars were all (nearly every one), proving to be mediocre against real competition with drug-screening unlike Pride. So, he figured he would mop the floor with 2nd-rate western MMA fighters and coast on his imaginary P4P#1 belt until he retired undefeated. Oops. Anyway, yeah, I used to be the guy who turned people on to MMA with Fedor videos, but I just don't like him anymore. I don't let that influence my opinion of his abilities though. He's a tiny out of shape HW, what he's done is incredible. I don't think he'd have a prayer against the top-5 in the UFC. That's got nothing to do with me not liking him though. I just think he would be destroyed. I think Rua and Lyoto could beat him. BJ might be able to beat him. I haaaaate Francis, but his JJ is supreme. He's the best HW in the world when it comes to JJ from the back.

And, my objective opinion is that Lesnar has the best chin in the history of the sport. It's not something he earned, he's just lucky to have a chin that matches the rest of his freak characteristics. That elbow that Shane landed on Lesnar's chin, with his head pinned against the mat making it worse, it sounded like a hockey stick hitting ice or something. Look in the background, in the audience, and you see Chuck's wife cringing and covering her face with both arms to protect herself. Shane had all his weight on that, which is a ton of weight, and it landed on Lesnar's chin. If that's not where you hit him to knock him out, where do you hit him? Can you show me one single instance of a fighter taking that kind of a blow to the chin, and not being out cold? Lesnar winced a little from the pain. Shane landed many many many punches all over Lesnar's head, that were a lot more significant than Fujita's glancing flail. A glancing flail that was a single punch. There's just simply not even close to a comparison.

That first round flurry is why Shane had never been out of the first round. Nobody else has been able to take a single one of those punches. He t-d off on Lesnar's temples, and his chin, and all over his forehead and his jaw, until his arms went numb and he was helpless. He hit him clean, as hard as he could, and he hit him a lot. Shane wasn't kidding when he said Brock "took that ground and pound like nobody else". Nobody else would have made it to the ground and pounds, they don't run and turtle after being tagged, they just fall down and the fights over. It's just silly to compare Fedor's chin to his.

Common sense and the unanimous consensus of practically every commentator who has spoken about it? I guess you forgot that for a about a year all everybody was saying that if Shane hits anybody they will go to sleep? Let's see all the comments describing Fedor as the hardest hitting fighter in HW history. I can't remember any.

Nobody with half a clue would pretend that little Fedor hits anywhere near as hard as giant Shane.

Shane did not knockout out Brock. All we've seen is that Carwin can knockout of 10 mediocre fighters, and Mir and Gonzaga. As far as i know they are not known for their chins. Anyways, i wasn't saying that Fedor punches harder etc. Thats your own stupidity. Just saying unless you've taken a punch from those guys we all know jack $Hit, can't trust coaches and teammates when they say those things, they all say the same stuff, Ko power, great wrestling, great BJJ, same old. Knock out power is more than just brute strength, it's where the punches land that matter, if it's a clean shot almost anybody will get KOed. Please drink safely.

After seeing what Overeem did to Rogers, M-1 wants no part of him. Not to say that fedor's scared, it just wouldn't be the best business decision. I'd love for it to happen, that way, if and when Overeem beats Fedor, the UFC could offer Allistar enough money to come and fight Brock. Thats the matchup I want to see.

They handle their business and fight cards like amateurs. It's just a mess. Too many cooks in the kitchen. I expect UFC to poach all their real talent in the future. It's too bad.

With every comment you make it becomes more and more obvious that you have no experience in fighting and as a simple fan you lack of personal judgement.

The fact that you buy all the hype that employed commentators create is the proof of that.

FYI... a sneeky counter-punch far more effective from an expected power-punch. How do you think Anderson Silva and other Elite strikers drop people like flies with what seems from the outside like a no-power punch.
