Uncle Creepy: Ian McCall prepares for UFC on FX 2 Flyweight Tourney (Photos)
Posted on February 28, 2012, 08:47 AM by Anton GurevichThis weekend, Ian "Uncle Creepy" McCall (11-2) will make his UFC debut in Sydney, Australia, as part of the first ever UFC Flyweight tournament.
Widely considered as the #1 Flyweight on the planet, McCall will be joined by the UFC veterans Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez (both dropping down from Bantamweight), and the fellow newcomer, former Shooto 125lbs champ Yasuhiro Urushitani. McCall will be facing Demetrious Johnson, with sights on fighting his place into the tournament final.
McCall is currently on a four-fight winning streak, with a notable victory over the previously undefeated Top 3 Flyweight Jussier da Silva. Uncle Creepy's most recent defeat came from hands of no other than the reigning UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz, via Unanimous Decision back at WEC 38.
As always, LowKick.com photographer Scott Hirano was on site to bring the following photo-report of Ian McCall's preparations for Demetrious Johnson. Uncle Creepy is the man!
the little man !
Nice pics, guy looks like a beast, I think either him or Jorgensen take the flyweight title
wow what a fail, even weaked myself. meant Benavidez
I bet if they has 5 foot tall refs they would look bigger in the octagon 8))
Way to many hype on this fighter here on Lowkick. Yet Demetrious Johnson will be to much for him... Easy win for the mouse....
I don' think it is just lowkick. Just a good story of a guy who was once addicted to the wrong thing and found relief through mma. Shows the power of sport! Now he's addicted to the fight game. Which you expect all fighters to be. Some guys take it for granted. This guy takes it as a God-send.
I think there's a reason "Uncle Creepy" is the number one 125 pounder. he is a real asset to the UFC, regardless of the outcome of the mighty mouse fight
are we talking about creepy or mcgee?
Great Handlebars 'staches=great nicknames! =D
I know small joint manipulation isnt allowed in the UFC but i'd be tempted to lock in some improvoised kimura on those 'creepy' handle bar stragglers!!
I think this fight will be better than the eventual title fight... these guys are both animals.
don't see him beating mightymouse unfortunately, but massive props to anyone who's willing to put their reputation on the line like that.
also i hope this is the last weightclass addition, as if the bantamweight roster wasn't weak enough already, now it's lost 2 of its only contenders, there comes a point when you have to say 'youre just too small', and 125 should be that point.. you walk around at 129lbs? no sorry it doesn't matter if you can cut to 115 easily, just fight at 125.
