Johnson for KO of the night? it was BS call for the ref stopping too early.

i probably would of given that award to Yves Edwards (that one the stoppage was too late...bad night of reffing)

I agree. But, impressive outing by Johnson, and props to Brenneman for being such a tough fighter. That head kick would have left just about anyone else out cold and that's probably why the ref just assumed it was over and stopped the fight.

It was over. Are you trying to say Brenneman wasn't laying on his back with his chin sticking up in the air to get pounded. It was a good stoppage... By saying it was BS you're pretty much saying Charlie was actually doing well in the fight. He looked silly and overmatched the last half of that very short fight.

When refs start stopping fights because of what they assume is going to happen or what is likely to happen next, the sport loses its entire intrigue. Many fighters have been losing or put in a bad spot and turned things around to win. Obviously, I am not saying that this is what would have happened here, but there is no way to say. However, by you're logic, some fighters should just be awarded the victory before the fight even starts. Anderson Silva shouldn't even have to get in the cage. And no, Brenneman wasn't out on his back with his chin in the air, I implore you to watch again. Thanks :)

@joey. to be technical a ref is supposed to stop a fight when the opponent is knocked out, not defending, taps or verbally submits. That kick flash knocked out charlie. thts still grounds for a stoppage. he might have recovered but he initially went limp for a fraction of a second. it was still in my opinion a justified stoppage and an awesome head kick KNOCKOUT.

by your logic...you could say the same thing for Kongo (twice was limp for a fraction of a second falling down) against Barry, but looked what happened there...the ref gave him the chance, recovered and he pulled off the win, ref shouldn't stop the fight until its really clear and certain
