I dont understand why this was an upset. He has been a top prospect since like September of last year, and Sakara is an...okay MW i guess. I figured he would have subbed Sakara actually. But i am surprised Weidman couldnt take Sakara down at will in the 1st.
because it was an upset. sakkara has what ten ufc fights and is a vet who can turn on the strking and a black belt. just because he was an all american and you have rumblings about and he has that wrestling base to bore the pants of everyone to a victiory doesnt mean he was expected to win,,,
Yes....yes it does. When Fitch fights someone, the wrestling base makes you expect that he will win hands down. Weidman beat Ryan Bader in college and someone else i forgot. And his BJJ was supposed to be out of this world good, since he was beating black belts in tournaments when he was like a blue belt. Sakara is an okay MW but never anything impressive, he TKO'd Irvin, thats great and all but thats the only kinda big name as of late.
Phil Davis is the other person
Thank you, was too lazy to look them up
Weidman was impressive, needs to work on his striking some though, and he could become a force in the division.
more then impressive wrestiling career**
wins over Mark Munoz & phil davis? thats impressive. this kid is one hell of a grappeler
Sakara suck, he never impress me with his so-call legionnaire bullshit. he a bad representation for roman legion wish he would take that name and tattoo off. he doesn't fit the role. i Bet you 100 buck he have the movie gladiator on dvd and musta seen it hundred of times.lol
weidman looked good towards the end of the fight, i think he had to get over his jitters and relax. having said that, sakaras takedown defense looked really strong before he started to wither, also he had some sick combos.
after all the shit they were saying about this guy all i got to say is that am not impressed, come on matt serra said this is the guy to beat silva get real
