UFC on Versus 3: Sanchez vs. Kampmann Bonuses
Fight of the Night: Diego Sanchez vs. Martin Kampmann ($160,000 each)
Submission of the Night: Brian Bowles ($40,000)
Knockout of the Night: Shane Roller ($40,000)
Yes, Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann got 160,000-dollar bonuses. Here's what Dana White told Yahoo! Sports's Kevin Iole:
"These guys are going to make a lot of money for fighting like that. They’re going to get paid. That was an awesome, awesome fight. They’re going to get paid for that."
"I don’t forget fights like that. That was an unbelievable fight. That was the kind of fight you saw back in the 1980s in boxing, a classic war. Diego Sanchez is one of the toughest [expletives] I’ve ever seen, man. It was a dogfight. They both gave every ounce of what they had. Kampmann got a loss on his record, but he didn’t lose that fight. There are no losers when you’re in a fight like that."

the nightmare is the shit
diego changed his name from nightmare to dream but judging by the ring of fat around his stomach he should have called himself diego 'CREAM' sanchez. He was always cut, strange. His stand up really is not good enough for the top level, he is trying to win fights by brawling and doesnt care what damage he is taking. Hi face has been fuc.ed badly by penn and now kampman. But he does have huge heart.
I cant believe how he just keeps comming forward like a zombie. Or a headless chicken. I had Kampmann winning the decision though. Lets get the compustrike stats!!!
Why is it that every time I see you write a comment it is always follwed by a string of "weak" votes ... oh yeah, cause your a tool who thinks his opinion is always correct.
that' pretty much the definition of n opinion! if you didn't think it was correct then it wouldn't be your opinion. lol
The Dream got a Nightmare fighting the Hitman!
really bad Decision , But what can we do? sucks =/
Anyway does anyone understand why Roller and Bowles are getting
only 40k?
By the way WEC is taking over! 1 fight at the time!! yes yes yes!
Diego lost that fight no doubt about it
Diego was swollen so badly on both sides that he looked worse than Saku or Aoki after a hard fight. Just awful, I don't know when they decided that looking busy was the main criteria for winning. Almost every one of those punches came up short, he got the better of one exchange the entire fight.
Dude u people gotta quit complaining about this already...... It was a close decision and Sanchez took the win... Too bad... At least it wasnt a decision like the Pham/Garcia fight.... That was a terrible decision
...
Diego won.... And That's the bottom line Amateurs....Kampmann only won round 1 and big....Round two and 3 Diego won.....The Hitman falls... Again.......War Diego....
..
it was a close fight that could have gone either way. If you just look at deigos face then abviously you would say he lost. I haD Kampmann win the first rnd and sanchez the third with rnd 2 up in the air. Rnd 2 was really close......i wouldnt have been suprised at another draw
Am I the only one that disagrees with Diego's new nickname?
Diego is a beast but i still think Martin landed the more effective shots... . 2 Rounds more and Kampann would be the winner.
it actually ended up with160k for both diego and kampmann plus the 80k sub of the night and ko thats 400k in just bonuses more than the entire payroll of a strikeforce event maybe dana isnt such a bad boss afterall
if this decision was that bad how come all 3 judges scored it the same it was the takedown diego got that got him the win even though he did nothing with it without that kampman for sure would have won
what an awesome card, all the fights were exciting. with lots of finishes too.
The best ufc on vs event to date
yeah that was sweet
I thought the UFC was going to start 5 round main-eventers. This fight would've been sick if it had 2 more rounds. Are they still going to do that or is it just to complicated with the State Commissions?
