UFC on FX 2 Wrap-Up: Kampmann, Johnson, McCall, Benavidez take home $50k

UFC on FX 2 delivered an exciting night of fights tonight from the Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia. Martin Kampmann took another step toward title contention, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat with a third-round submission win over Thiago Alves in the headlining bout. Joseph Benavidez booked his place in the Flyweight Tournament final, knocking out Yasuhiro Urushitani in the co-main event, while Demetrious Johnson edged out Ian McCall on the scorecards to solidify his own shot at the 125-pound belt. Also featured was Serra-Longo Fight Team product, Constantinos Philippou, who picked up his third consecutive octagon victory, outworking Court McGee en-route to a unanimous decision.

The UFC awarded generous $50,000 bonuses to the night's top performers, who were announced by Dana White immediately following the event.

    Johnson/McCall was a draw and should of went to sudden death round. there was a judging error. The result will be officially a draw and they will rematch in the near future.
