The Reem didn't show sharp boxing skills in his last fight against Werdum and he can also be rather slow (see his k-1 fight against Tyrone Spong), Cigano is much faster and more skilled and could KO him, as he did Cain...I just wished the Cain fight took more rounds...For unless to take him to deep waters, it seems hard to beat the Brazilian powerhouse...Cain has the best chance to do so, and I'm sure we'll see a rematch in the near future...

Was JUST thinking of tyrone spong but couldn't remember his last name. Overeem looked like he was gonna get KO'd that fight...but spong got too presumptuous and gassed himself out trying to finih it in one punch.

And spong is a much much smaller fighter...think he was around 220?? That's pretty sad.

Brock has the best chance of anyone imo. Not because he can take a punch but because I know he can get junior down for the ground and pound. With that being said Brock is obviously not the total package because he cant take a punch.

Borealis@ is right Reem is slow but hits like a jack hammer. However he has zero ground game but he is so big he will be able to get off the ground. Cain had the best chance imo

What gets me is Rogen said JDS had the best hands in the heavy weight division. I laughed after the big country fight when he threw and landed everything and couldnt finish. What I learned from the Cain vs JDS fight was no matter what, Big Country is the toughest SOB in the heavy weight division...just not the badest.

Personally I would like to see Mir or Carwin fight JDS

Wait, Overeem has zero ground game? He's a BJJ Black Belt and has finished most of his MMA fights by submission. Fail.

JDS destroyed Carwin already. Brock would probably get KO'd but Reem would be a different matter. Reem does have a decent ground game, but you obviously don't know much about him, though I expect the fact that JDS likes to keep it standing would mean we saw a completely different style from Overeem than we saw against Werdum.

Overeem is the most skilled HW. It's his chin, wrestling and conditioning that are in question. But man he just has so many ways to hurt dudes. Kicks, punches, knees, subs. 1 mistake and ur dead against ubereem, the future champ 2012.

I guess chael has found his new cheat tool then. Still, history tends to repeat itself and chael will look even worse when they find scissors tucked into his shorts.

Probably still wont be able to cut him.

Lesnar is not experienced enough. He doesn't belong there although, I suppose if he beat Overeem I'd have to re-think that.

Unless Brock has figured out how to overcome his fear of being punched... he will be fighting Cain again sometime in the middle of 2012.

I agree with one caveat, can he defend Brock's take down? If he can he will win and Dos Santos will not out strike him.

    Overeem without question.

If Lesnar could get this fight to the ground, it would be him...but I am now convinced of JDS's TDD. Cain couldn't take him down, Carwin couldn't take him down, Brock won't either. That makes it a standup fight, and Brock will get destroyed on the feet.

Overeem on the other hand, has the striking skills to give anyone, including JDS, major problems. It should be a great fight.

Cain and Carwin couldn't take him down? Actually, Cain didn't try that hard to take him down. He caught the foot and shot in one time but we can't base his ability to take JDS down on that one attempt. Carwin actually took him down but didn't transition well enough to keep him down. I think Brock can get him to the ground. The question is if he can keep him there.

Reem. He is the only fighter in the divison with better striking than JDS. The biggest problem is that Reem has a bit of a weak chin and he will drop from any big shot from Cigano.

True, but Overeems overall striking is superior. This is an expert boxer against an expert kickboxer. Overeems defense is far too good to be caught by a guy who only threatens with punches, no kicks or takedown attempts.

I am not even sure JDS's hands are better. They are busier but Overeem has more power and is more economical. They have different styles but both get the job done.

Id have to go with a healthy Brock. He's smart enough to bring it to close corners very quickly.

Not sure if the healthy Brock ever shows up again.

So are many of you suggesting that JDS and his boxing are good enough that he could win a K1 World Grand Prix Tournament? World class striking is more than just great boxing and Alistair Overeem will be the one to demonstrate that to JDS. Just consider that one dimensional boxers have never gone very far in the K1. Why would any of you think that the standing fight (more of a K1 fight than a MMA fight) that's going to happen between JDS and Overeem would be any different?

Great point. Reem also has a 4+ inch reach advantage, a filthy guillotine and uberknees.

Reem has the perfect standup style to give JDS problems. Throws single power shots with exceptional defense, and gets in close with tenderizing knees. JDS's uppercut will be a problem for Reem though. And JDS has a very very good chin, while Reem's is suspect. I could actually see Reem trying to take it to the ground in the early stages like he did to Cro Cop.

i think overeems weakness is a fighter like junior. he doesnt seem to have very good boxing defence. alot of people think that because overeems a striker that wresling is his weakness but i dont think so. hes strong, got long legs wich help for ttd, and he obviously trains wrestling every day.i predict overeem will tko lesnar, seeing as lesnar is just way too inexpereinced in mma to beat someone like reem, along with his horrible striking defence. then junior will ko overeem.

Lesnar looked terrible in his last two fights. really, he got beaten up very bad. i think cigano would ko him in the first round.

and overeem fought a boring, but that was mostly werdums fault imo.

i think overeem has the best chances to beat cigano, but dos santos is just crazy good. would be a good fight. really looking forward to this.

They both have chances but Overeem has more experience. Lesnar could only beat JDS on the ground while Overeem could maybe beat JDS on the ground but he could also knock him out even tough I think jds would win this fight. It depens on how Reem or Brock wins the fight at ufc 141.

neither , overeems chin is to bad , brocks fear of being hit is too much , Cain has the best chance , if he changes his bad gameplan used in the fight .

I don't think that either guy can beat JDS at this point. The Reem would probably get clipped like Cain. Alistar is an excellant striker with plenty of confidance; but I haven't seen anyone really hurt Cigano yet. But If Lesnar can get him down and mash up on him in an effort to wear JDS down while feedig him some GNP; maybe he'd have a chance. But I don't know if Lesnar can get past The Reem without getting a beating simular to the one he recieved from Cain. It goes round like that in the Heaveyweight Division.

velasquez just had a long layoff comapred to JDS who has a huge momentum after his previous fights. He is still the 1 to beta JDS if he will mix his striking with takedowns that he used to man handled Congo and Rothwell.
