The ratings are in for UFC on FOX 2, and while the UFC’s second fight card on the network did not top the November 12, 2011 one hour special that the promotion used as an introduction, the numbers were still strong.

The ratings for the three fight card peaked during the main event between Rashad Evans and Phil Davis, when an average of 6.08 million viewers were tuned into the event.

The overall average for the fight card, which ran two hours and nineteen minutes, was 4.661 million viewers. The numbers put UFC on FOX 2 as the number three all-time MMA event on US television. The top two were UFC on FOX 1, which averaged 5.675 million viewers and Elite XC: Primetime, which brought in an average of 4.8 million viewers.

Props to SI.com for the numbers.

How many were still awake after the Maia/Wideman fight?..inquiring minds want to know.

you have to admit that for a ''non-fan'' (which is what the UFC is targetting with these events on FOX), that fight was far from being enticing

Had nothing to do with that it went to a decision, but more to do with that they were both gassed and technique went to hell. I was watching it with someone who doesn't normally follow mma and he said they both look like drunk people in a bar fight the way they were throwing punches at the end - and honestly, too some extent he was right. Even Rogan said this performance wasn't going to put fear into the eyes of anyone in the MW division (or something like that). It was a bad fight and you can be an mma fan and admit that.

As I remember Rogan actually did compare it to a drunken brawl during the cast, and I am a hardcore mma fan of more then 10 winters and that was just a sad fight to watch.

Weidman has an excuse he cut 31 pounds in 11 days, that right there should be a gret achievement in its own, and to top it off he won the fight.

You want scripted entertainment, watch Wrestlemania. The beauty of this sport is that you can have a 1 min KO like the first Fox show or 55 minutes of decisions like the second one. But either, I tuned in to watch some guys fight with a lot on the line, I can appreciate (irregardless of the outcome) what happened in the octagon.

Do not assume that you are better than us because you watched and liked a sh**ty fight. I like Maia alot as a fighter, but the shape he came in was unprofessional. Wideman had an excuse with the short notice Maia did not. There are hard fought decisions, and then there is what that fight was. And if you say something like "You get in there.." They are in there because of the money that I spend to buy the pay-per-views, go to the fights, watch the advertising, and I do not want to watch a very good athlete come in, in the shape he was in, I want value for my money, being that it was my money, and yours that built that company up. If you are ok with watching that kind of crap, go outside the bar in your city at closing time and you can watch it all you want. You and I insisting and demanding quality athletes and performances is what has made the UFC become what it is, Joe Silva has to take his job serious because we will not tolerate handing our money over for crap. You and I almost got Anderson SIlva cut after his "performance" against Maia. I cannot appreciate what happened in the Octagon, and you should not either my friend. Doesn't help it get better.

You ignorant pubic louse. It was a FREE FIGHT! You want value for your money...then b*tch when you actually have to spend some to watch the fight. If the Super Bowl is lackluster in the first half am I gonna stop watching at halftime? Of course not....the second half might be exciting as hell. And it's FREE to watch! So who am I to complain? Not every matchup is gonna be an epic slugfest or technical domination. The will be lackluster fights. But you asked a question and I answered. Don't get upset because you don't have the maturity to enjoy a FREE show for what it is......FREE!

Did I mention it costed nothing to watch the UFC of Fox 2 show?

It would have been more exciting if the 5 out of 6 fighters on this card were something other than wrestlers. Nothing against wrestling; however, when you get so many people doing the exact same thing it gets kind of boring. I ran the numbers and combine all the people on the main card and they have 57 fights in the UFC and only 13 fight night bonuses (SUBS, KO's, FON), which gives us a 22% chance of having an exciting fight, 22%, Vegas has better odds that this fight card.

So Joe Hood is a fairweather idiot. I cant believe you would answer this cat's comment the way you did. You proved a lot kid. Were so proud your a dedicated, mma educated and under appretiated fan of the sport. Your loyality is truly respected by all. Im so glad you can be entertained by one of the worst fights of the year. 3/3 fights were seriously trash. I bet you also feel the "The Champ" dominated Bisping in beating of the year?? All in all ufc on fox has been a failure as far as excitement go. I do understand the casuals are not ready for blood and brutal but come on......Now hate awayyyy.........San Diego Por Vida!!

Considering this event had no title fights those are good numbers I think. MMA is not going to be for everyone but the most exposure the sport gets the more people will get hocked on it.
