how is that a load of crap? please inform me..i love people on these sites that just say all negative things...get a life and create your own comments and opinions, so you can see how many people there are like you. Bra...say something constructive next time and show that you actually have a brain. thanks for com'n out
While I disagree with much of the presentation, I do agree that as long as people are cutting weight a 190 weight class is ludicrous. There is only a 20 lb difference between MW and LHW. If you are too big for MW then you are a LHW. If you are (in some way I cannot fathom) in between, gain 5 pounds of muscle and you should be fine. A 135 weight class makes much more sense. Personally though, I think that cutting should be banned as it is extremely unhealthy. Have guys fight at their natural weights and separate each class 10-15 lbs. Which ever weight you round to, to fight at. That's how I would do it in my dream land.
Ya for sure man...that is what I was trying to get at...I don't agree with "weight cutting" as well and agree that is very unhealthy and for many fighters is there downfall for there fight...how many times have you heard guys say that they had to cut too much weight, too fast, and that is partly why they lost? It happens allot and if mma had 7 or 8 weight classes, guys could fight to there potential "every time". Rampage had to lose 50 pounds in his training camp because he was out of fighting shape, we know how that one went...thanks for your reply!!
A Cruiser Weight division is actually a horrible idea, and if you actually sat down and took the time to think about why, you'd understand.
Let me explain... For the first time in it's history the Heavyweight Division is flourishing and now has the majority of the worlds best Heavyweights all in one promotion.
By creating a Cruiser Weight Division, you alienate the competition and take potential opponents away from Fighters who cannot make that weight.
If you create a Cruiser Weight Division and enough fighters feel comfortable staying there, then who is going to face Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin?? Because those will be the only guys left at Heavyweight.
Cruiser Weight is a good idea until you think about what will ACTUALLY happen if it ever existed.
Actually, there are only two major organizations that have the original weight classes...UFC and Strikeforce...The WEC and Bellator both concentrate on the smaller weight classes and there are no other "major" organizations in north america that even compare to those 4...so you are 50% right i guess...Dream has 6 weight classes as well.
very good point...i bet you in the future there will be a cruiserweight didvision in the UFC...MMA isn't quite big enough yet to have all of these weight classes, but, i think it will be in the near future..i think eventually there will always be guys contending and not, in all weight classess in the UFC...if dana white gets his way and actually has 100 shows per year, the smaller weight classes like in WEC and the cruiserweight class will be inevitable...thanks for your input...i respect your opinion.
But how would you feel being one of the smaller HW's and losing fights in your division all the time because of the huge gap in the classes. Talented fighters careers are ruined because of the weight difference alone, an MMA fighter vs a Juggernaut doesn't always work. Bate for the sharks until the sharks are forced to eat each other!
If there was a cruiserweight I think it should be more than 235, and ppush the 265 limit up to around 285. I just think it would seperate the giants from the guys that could potentially be light heavyweights, but would at the same time deter a guy already in light heavyweight from trying to move up.
i like that idea 2...cruiserweight is gonna happen, and once the UFC see's potential "money" they will incorporate the smaller weight classes as well, like in the WEC...give mma a few years and you will see that the ufc will be like the NHL and the smaller shows will be like the AHL and the even smaller shows will be like the OHL or WHL...if you guys follow hockey, you will know what i'm talking about...if not, oh well. I like your idea though..it would spread out the competition.

On threads.... Or ur wall. Or the public wall. For instance, when you wanted to talk about Fedor vs Werdum, there are alot of pre-existing threads on that topic. If u want something new, find some recent news and paraphrase or re-write in ur words. I am not trying to be mean to u bro, I am happy we have new members.
the public wall is just guys making fun of eachother because they are from different countries...i've seen all of the shit people were saying...it's like elementry school kids talking back and forith...if i put it on my wall, is everyone going to see it?...i'm a newb...i just want to get people talking and sharing there opinions in a constructive way, unlike some people that belong to this site that just say immature, ignorant things. What would be the best way to convey my opinions on this site?
If you want to get people talking and sharing opinions, post unbiased info (such as news stories and / or videos) and see how other people react to it. If you just wanna voice an opinion, there are other ways to do so. Don't ruin it for the rest of us by being a douche.
lol...you are a sad soul...i feel bad for you that you actually take the time out of your day to be an internet tough guy...lol..is your life really that unfulfilling and unimportant?
Cruiserweight at 235 and HW at 285 as said by Dray seems sensible. Something like this will only happen when there are too many fighters in the mix. At the moment there would not be enough to fill the 285 slot though that may change i hope.

I don't get that cutting weight either. You live at around f.e. 208 pounds and then fight at 180? That is simply not you.

i agree its a bad idea!
the heavyweight will be with out contenders!
beside now big light heavyweights will jump to the new weight class
and heavyweights will cut to the new one leaving the 2 divisions heavy and light heavy bad!
beside all the major organizations have the original 5 divisions!
a new weight class will make no sense!

Actually to be an internet tough guy you need to have friends who work at ISPs like I do...........eheh
I just think adding too many weight classes is a bad idea. Especially if there are divisions that aren't stacked.
Heavyweight up to 240, and Super HeavyWeight above
I could deal with that...there are allot of huge dudes out there.
This is a communist poll, do you work for M-1 Global ?
uuhhhh,I vote yes???
This is a Best Poll I see so far.... hmmm so many choices... ok, I vote Yes too ! lol
