UFC award $75,000 Invincible bonuses
Posted on April 10, 2010, 05:35 PM by Anton GurevichUltimate fighting Championship awarded a huge $75,000 bonuses to Rafael Dos Anjos, DeMarques Johnson, Mark Munoz and Kendall Grove for their performances at UFC 112: Invincible in Abu Dhabi.
Decorated Wrestling Champion and Black House product Mark Munoz scored a very impressive comeback victory against Kendall Grove, who dominated the fight in the early minutes. Munoz adjusted his gameplan during the fight, defeating Grove via a vicious Ground and Pound in the second round of the bout. Both fighters were awarded the ”Fight of the Night" prize money for their performances.
Rafael Dos Anjos was awarded a "Submission of the Night", as the Ultimate Fighter 9 finalist DeMarques Johnson received the prestigious "Knockout of the Night" award. Johnson delivered a devastating kick to "Bad" Brad Blackburn's body, earning him a second consecutive victory inside the Octagon. Rafael Dos Anjos added a famous victory over Terry Etim to his record, by submitting the talented British grappler via a perfect armbar in the second round of the fight. Both youngsters continue their ways in the UFC with a very bright future ahead of them.
UFC 112 bonuses are by $10,000 bigger than UFC 111, where Shane Carwin, Kurt Pellegrino, Jared Hamman and Rodney Wallace banked extra $65K for their performances.

I can't believe how stupid that fight was, as a fighter and champion in a main event he showed absolute disrespect to everyone involved, the fans, maia, Dana White, The Arab royal family and some people even payed $1007 dollars to be at that fight. One more fight like that and I seriously think DW needs to consider Silva's future in the UFC
Are you lot kidding me!!? He gets on all fours and offers Maia a free kick of his head and waves him on for a free punch and because Maia lacks the ability to do that is no fault of Anderson's. When he did attack he messed up Maia's face and showed he could have ended it at any time.
All he did was not succumb to the blood loving, barbarian gened crowd. He took NO damage in 5 rounds and he just wants somebody to come and fight him toe to toe. Maia knew he was behind and did not try and win so that shows a lack of respect more than Anderson who is just supposed to defend his belt.
**** the fans...Anderson was doing this way before the UFC made him millions. This is a sport, not entertainment.
Silva couldn't finish maia within 5 rounds.. nate marquardt finished maia in 1 round. Anderson Silva is supposedly to be a the #1 striker in the world, I think this fight put an end to the #1 p4p discussion.. it should be between GSP and Fedor now.

@ Dabs .... So r u telling me that u think Anderson's ridiculous behavior was acceptable to people who pay to see a fight and not a freakin dance? If its only a sport and its not entertainment then why are they marketing Silva vs Maia like crazy?? Why did people pay $1000 dollars to watch them fight. U say WTF?? I will tell you bud, its crazy how he acted and if u think that we are blood crazed barbarians you are wrong. We are fans of MMA as a sport and as entertainment. We enjoy fights that are exciting and where fighters show great heart, ability and respect. Anderson only showed how he was better than Maia by avoiding him, thats fine, but to swear and showboat to the point that its humiliating and then to say postfight that Maia has no respect is damn wrong.
And any trainer will tell you that if u get the chance to finish than take it, what if Maia had landed a lucky punch and KO'd Silva. I know its a million to one but it can happen, what then ?? Silva loses his belt and is probly dropped from the UFC for acting like a clown. So don't give me that BS that Silva is entitled to act like a terd coz he is not. Belt or no Belt.
@Dabs. Unfortunately you are a complete and utter dumb ass. You do realise, When Silva had his knee on the ground, Maia can't kick in him in the head right? Even if he is offering a free kick to the face, It is against the rules and Maia would most certainly have lost a point for it, or been booted all together.

In some ways the fight was like Huges vs Royce Gracie. The difference is that Hughes did the right thing. He dominated the fight and won with honor. In doing this he left Royce with what honor he could salvage and didn't make him look like a fool. He also gave the audience what they came for. Anderson obviously doesn't feel challenged.
Would of liked to of seen the DeMarques Johnson fight. Saw the actual main-card, gonna have to find that fight tho. Obviously was a prelim. DeMarques Johnson was my favorite to win TUF during his respective season.
Hopefully the extra $10,000 bonuses came from Silva's payout due to his lack of sportsmanship and performance.
Probobly given the xtra bonusus cause all the fights sucked.
