According to recent report on BloodyElbow.com, UFC Undisputed will be released in January 2012, and will include a series of exciting improvements and additions. One of those improvements, is the "Pride FC Mode".

Fans will get an opportunity to go back in time, when foot stomps and knees to the head of downed opponent were still allowed, and Fedor Emelianenko vs. Mirko Cro Cop was the Heavyweight Fight of the Year. Yes, the PRIDE FC era. The mode will include a complete "Pride Feeling", with Steve Quadros and Bas Rutten as commentators, famous PRIDE entrances and younger Wanderlei Silva (at least according to screenshots).

Can't wait for this, 2010 was pretty poor, though. Anyone know if its being developed by THQ or EA? and I wonder if the SF guys will be in it, you know, with the Zuffa buyout and all. At least they've added the lighter divisions, I kinda liked the sub system in the 09 version... ah well guess I'll just headstomp fools online with the PRIDE mode :)

it does look cool i just hate the concept of jui jitsu in a video game it has never worked in any of these mma games

i dunno if i just suck at the game but every time i played i got RLY mad

like even the stand up was retarted i would head kick my opponet like sick times clean to the jaw and he hits me once and i get get knocked the **** out like that was retarted

the stand up is still fun but they gotta take out the flash knock outs cuz that shit was ridicuosly RANDOM hopefully they come out with a better gameplay where yu can get dropped and have a chance to recover instead of just being completly ****ed

and the thumbstick moves on the ground were retarted in juijitsu you have more than one option to escape or set up a sub

yeah fight night champion is the best fighting game i ever play!

the stand up is sick! fluid and smooth like it should be

THQ should do the stand for the UFC game exactly like that!

with kicks and knees of course! not limited you to 3 punches at a time!

plus the fighters look stiff and slow.

Lets just hope they can make it right with this one =)

Sounds awesome, especailly the FC mode, I just hope they dont dumb down the game too much with their "simplifying" of controls.

I agree with Jamie though, 2010 wasnt as good as 2009 was. The bigger variety of moves and most of the standup improvements were cool, but the online didnt work for months, sub system was back and forth bugged, there was obvious balance issues (like shogun transitioning from a submission on the bottom to standup).

The physics integration with the standup was mostly cool, but I could NOT stand how they completely ruined jabs and made it impossible to do counter-striking strategies unless you did it with sways.

Grappling system was a downgrade from 2009 as well, while the muy thai clinch was a better concept and the new positions were cool... the balance was ruined and LnP became far too dominant and made every online player fight like Fitch.

Heres to hoping they manage to integrate the new features while bringing back what made 2009 great!

It never failed to amaze me how many hate messages I would get for fighting that way... while USING Jon Fitch.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by "finishes," so I am not necessarily disagreeing with you... But, I hope they're not like some Mortal Kombat type finish sequences. As in, like once your opponent "starts" the process, your done and unable to regroup. I agree that just suddenly falling over is a bit anticlimactic, but at the same time they shouldn't ruin the realism. That's what MMA is about, you could be fine one moment and if you are caught with the wrong shot or in the wrong position, you never know when it could be all over.

Mortal Kombat is the Ish lol. I hope this one is totally different from the last one because you were very limited on the ground...We need more JJ moves on the ground.

yeah the finishes were anti-climatic. once the KO happens the winner immediately walks away with his hand raised. disappointing that you couldn't get a few more hits in after the other player is KO'd having the ref break it up, like when they are falling down or when they are motionless on the ground.

EA MMA has the most realistic finishers. When ur hurt u slip fall roll over. Its the same concept though as both UFCs, where theirs no hope for u after ur rocked. That's why I want it realistic. That's what I'm talking bout MMAW as realistic as possible. Make the fight feel like a fight.

and thinking about it now, the zuffa buyout will probably destroy the ea sports mma series. i dont think theyll have the same access to strikeforce fighters as last year

I was thinking the exact same thing bro, especially since Dana said he would boycott any fighter featured in EA Sports MMA (except for Couture) "If you do business with EA, you won't be in the UFC." and now that Zuffa owns StrikeForce which was responsible for 90% of EA Sports MMA'S fighter roster it looks highly unlikely that EA will be able to continue their MMA franchise with almost no roster unless they use fighters from Bellator, DREAM or M1 Global etc.

well if ea sports would have done the game when the ufc first wanted to instead of ignoring them until they seen the success, ea shouldn't have done that if they suffer who cares

In my opinion EA Sports MMA was the near perfect MMA experience for me in a video game. A lot of people didn't enjoy using the right stick for striking but if your a Fight Night vet like me striking is a breeze. The face buttons also allowed the grappling to be easy to understand but hard to master.

I honest hate the UFC video games (with exception to the UFC game for Dreamcast), but it looks like they are on their way to improving the series! I look forward to what THQ brings to the table.

I feel ya I love EA MMA and wish the UFC didnt sign the long term deal with THQ and let EA make the game. EA did damn good to say this was there first time and a 2nd game would be great. EA was more real and challenging and flowed better. I was done with the UFC game when every time I land a head I got koed right after. EA MMA ALL DAY!!!!!111

    @nux2k

The reason why the UFC signed the deal with THQ was because Dana White declared himself "at war" with EA over the development of the EA Sports MMA video game. White assumed that he initially wanted EA to develop UFC 2009 Undisputed and said "EA Sports told us, 'You're not a real sport. We wouldn't touch this thing. We want nothing to do with this.'" "We put our asses on the line, THQ and the UFC, to make a video-game deal in the worst economy in the world, we go out there and do this thing, and it's successful, and now god-damn EA Sports wants to do a video game."

if there isnt i just might cry.

i read on the undisputed website that they got gary goodridge's likeness for the pride mode a few weeks ago. i would of thought that maybe the acquisition of strikeforce was what they were waiting for to put in guys like fedor, overeem, kharetonov maybe even nick diaz to a pride mode.

surly they cant put in a pride mode without its biggest legends?

They need to have photogame face like EA MMA so that we can create accurate representations of fighters not in the game.

EA MMA did play better, just too bad that it was a flop in sales and i dont think EA will continue with it.

Hopefully UFC undisputed 3 can implement better gameplay, maybe taking a few idea from EA MMA

I prefer the EA MMA over Undisputed as well.

THQ never have been worth a crap at the "career mode" aspect in any game.

Looking at the screenshots .. it still does not look as good visually as the EA game.

A year and a half later, they take the same game engine that was already looking funky last undisputed and add new camera angles?

Not gonna be a pre-order for me.

I go back and forth between interest and boredom with video games. I bought the UFC 2010, but was not really impressed with it. I kept looking for the move where you pull the heart out of your opponent and hold it up, still beating, in his face.

I usually prefer COD Black OPS and for a while Assasin's Creed.

When I get together online with buds, we also play nazi zombies with

    Space Monkeys.

Now that the weather is better, I prefer to get outside.
