The UFC will expand its international footprint in 2012 when it travels to Sweden for the first time in the history of the promotion. The promotion will make its Swedish debut on April 14 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.

The main event on the card will feature Stokholm’s own Alexander Gustafsson facing off against Antonio Rogerio “Lil’ Nog” Nogueira. Gustafsson is coming off a first round TKO win over Vladimir Matyushenko at UFC 141. The victory pushed Gustafsson’s record to 13-1, with his only loss coming to Phil Davis at UFC 112.

Nogueira will also enter the Octagon coming off a big win, as he defeated Tito Ortiz via first round TKO at UFC 140.  The victory ended a two fight losing streak for Nogueira.

Also appearing on the Stockholm card:

Siyar Bahadurzada vs. Paulo Thiago

DaMarques Johnson vs. John Maguire

Jörgen Kruth vs. Cyrille Diabate

Magnus "Jycken" Cedenblad vs. Francis Carmont

Brian Stann vs. Alessio Sakara

Brad Pickett vs. Damacio Page

James Head vs. Papy Abedi

Brian vs Sakara is also a badass fight. Alessio is going to win.

Ya not a lot of big names but I like these match ups. I'm excited to see Papy Abedi in the octagon, he got a ridiculously tough fight in his debut.

yeah i think so too, Stnnn going to try and box with Sakara, Stann does have the KO power that we've seen Sakara susceptible to though

5 PPV Main-Card caliber fights. Awesome. Good to see Pickett back as well. Also excited about Siyar Baharduzada to make his debut. Heard a lot of good things about him here in Holland.

Am I the only one who thinks he should be called Alexander "Dragonborn" Gustaffson? He'd have the best entrance music ever.

That is pretty silly, his walk in music should actually be Roger Pontare - När vindarna viskar mitt namn.

Actually Gustafsson should hire Pontare to sing it live as he is walking in.

Holy shit this card is so so good, thank you ufc for an amazing card for your first visit to the north. Perfectly timed card as well with Gustafsson being such a bad ass atm.

Typical fight card with plenty of KOs, subs and exciting things, even though there's no BIG BIG names. It's going to be great, lots of cool matchups.

Style wise this is a good fight for lil nog and i think he is better on the ground.. and a tiny bit better on the feet....

However Alex is on a roll at the moment.. and i feel it may take more than lil nog to stop him.. if it was three rounds i would say alex by decison but im assuming it is five rounds so Alex by TKO in the 4th of 5th round

Gustafsson is no joke, and overlooked quite a bit. Definitely the dark horse of the division. I see him taking this one decisively.
