Jose Aldo remained the UFC Featherweight Champion, this time defeating Kenny Florian via Unanimous Decision in what could be easily described as "War of Attrition".

Aldo was able to execute his gameplan, punishing Jose Aldo with sharp striking combinations and leg kicks. Jose Aldo also displayed an improved takedown defense and a fantastic submission game that prevented from Kenny Florian to get into dominant positions throughout the fight.

Speaking about Florian, it was Ken-Flo's third run for the UFC title to end up in failure. Florian never showed anything to put Jose Aldo in any kind of danger, not speaking about getting close to a finisher. Kenny Florian had a good performance in the first round of the fight, but left behind in every single other round of the fight.

At the age of 35, Florian probably had his last run for becoming a Champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship Kenny Florian is without a doubt one of the best fighters never to become a Champion in the UFC, alongside Jon Fitch and Nate Marquardt.

As for Aldo, the Champ is now 20-1 in his MMA career, wth a 13-fight win streak. Aldo cuts a lot of weight to get down to 145, and was short on gas during the Championship rounds against Kenny Florian. UFC Lightweight division might be the next destination for the talented Brazilian.

I thought Florian won two rounds, not just one that all the judges scored, but Aldo did enough to defend his belt. Aldo looked quite big this fight. Another great to the LW division perhaps? I hope so, but I think he'll struggle there if he makes the move.

I would not call that domination by Aldo--though he did win.

I would find it hard after his last two performances to list him so high in the P4P list. Kenny did use a lot of ineffective press-and-pray tactics which kept Aldo tied up and tired.

was it just me or was Kenflo not letting his left hand go?!?!I was soo pissed because I know he was not his best tonight IMO.He kept on trying to grapple. I felt he hurt his left hand in the earlier rounds

Jose has not looked as good lately. He seems to be holding back and just making sure he wins. His cardio may be his concern and therefore keeping his guns tied up to last.

i believe it has a lot to do with his weight cut. hes gained a lot of muscle mass and is having a hard time cutting down to 145 and its taking a toll on his performance. hes not as explosive as he used to be.

On damage Aldo definitely won but I would say K Flo got at least 2 rounds and depending on hwo you score it maybe even should have won. Very close fight and once again proves how good Kenny Florian is for a non-champ, and further still adds another big name to Aldo's resume.

Aldo just dropped out of my top 3 p4p and was replaced by Edgar. He hasn't went in for the kill in his past few fights, and seems to be becoming sort of a saftey first fighter. He held Kenny against the fence in the last round and tried to prevent any fighting. Sort of a boring fight in my opinion.

Everyone saying Aldo looked bad.. is not giving Kenny any respect… Aldo did not look bad at all, he looked smart. He looked like a champ! I don’t know why everyone is downplaying Kenny Florian’s skills. Kenny Florian is a ****ing beast. He’s a veteran of the sport and he got SICK SKILLS alround! sure he lost 3 title fights… but he didnt become the #1 contender for nothing! he got to that point 3 times cause he destroyed everyone else in the division! Kenny Florian was a step up in competition for Aldo and that showed.. he learned from that and will adapt. Titles don’t come easy… and it’s even harder to keep a hold of it. Last night it showed that Aldo got a KungFu grip on the belt and i don’t see anyone taking it away anytime soon. (and no Edgar doesn’t stand a chance either).
