Just a few hours ago, all 20 participants of tomorrow nights Ultimate Fight Night 22: Marquardt vs Palhares took to the scales in the official weigh ins. Out of those 20, 19 safely made weight, with Efrain Escudero being the only one to miss the limit, weighing in at 159 pounds. As is customary, Escudero has to forfeit 20 percent of his purse to his opponent, Charles Oliviera.

The card is due to go down at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, and will be headlined by a Middleweight bout between Nate Marquardt vs Rousimar Palhares, in what could possibly be a title contender elimination bout. Also on the card, the heavy handed Brit Ross Pearson looks to move a step closer to his Lightweight title ambition, should he overcome fellow TUF alumni Cole Miller.

The full list of weights is as follows:

Main Card:

185 lbs.: Nate Marquardt (186) vs. Rousimar Palhares (186)
155 lbs.: Efrain Escudero (159) vs. Charles Oliveira (154)
155 lbs.: Jim Miller (155.5) vs. Gleison Tibau (154)
155 lbs.: Cole Miller (156) vs. Ross Pearson (156)

Preliminary Card:

155 lbs.: Yves Edwards (155) vs. John Gunderson (156)
185 lbs.: Dave Branch (186) vs. Tomasz Drwal (185.5)
185 lbs.: Rich Attonito (185) vs. Rafael Natal (186)
155 lbs.: Jared Hamman (205) vs. Kyle Kingsbury (206)
170 lbs.: Brian Foster (170.5) vs. Forrest Petz (170)
170 lbs.: David Mitchell (170.5) vs. Anthony Waldburger (171)

well gee whiz thanks for calling me a poor fan for having an opinion, but im just comparing it to the fight nights that have come before...i mean ufc on versus 1 had jones, vera gonzaga, dos santos, kongo and guida to name but a few...then we had florian gomi which was also a very good card...ufc on versus 2 had okami munoz and jones as well as others....anyway i think i phrased my original comment wrong because its not 'really poor' there are some good matchups, but with the exception of seeing how escudero and oliveira plays out none of the fights really appeal to me, thats all

Ok Guys, If I'm honest I've been following MMA for a couple of years now but I've never really paid much attention to the weigh-ins.

So if someone could just run me throught the basics that would be cool.

How much can you go over? what are the forfits? can you re-weigh? that sort of stuff.

    Cheers.

its totally at the opponents discretion. you are allowed 1 pound over maximum. if you weigh in too heavym you are given time to lose it, or the opponent can accept the fight, and he receive's 20 percent of your purse. also, even if you are 2 pounds over, the opponent can choose to refuse to fight you, although that rarely happens
