UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans Pre-Fight Press Conference Video and Quotes

Jon Jones and Rashad Evans will finally go face to face, as part of the official UFC 145 pre-fight press conference from Atlanta, Georgia. The event will take place at the Piedmont Room of Park Tavern, with Jon Jones, Rashad Evans, UFC President Dana White, and other UFC 145 participants sharing their thoughts ahead of this weekend's highly-anticipated fight card.

Anik asks Evans how he'll take Jon Jones down since no one has ever done it. "Suga" says he's confident in his abilities and that "Bones" is underestimating him. Says he doesn't pay attention to the 5:1 betting line. Downplays the old training time between him and the champ, says he enjoyed it.
Turns it to Jones and Jonny gives him a smidgen of credit for helping him on the way up and we go back to Evans, who changed camps to help get some of the fun back.
Evans says he doesn't get his due as 205-pound great but doesn't need to be reading his press clippings but a win over Jones will def. be "huge." Hasn't thought about the hall of fame but would love to do it one day.
Back to Jones who wants to be considered the best and it's what his life is about. Also says a win on Saturday night "huge" and says Evans has speed and grappling and wants to see if he can conquer it.
So far this thing is cordial. Boo!
Jones says he's fearless and knows what he's getting into, not sure if Rashad is still in his prime but thinks he's a different fighter but not necessarily improved. Praises Evans new six-pack abs and credits either a new supplement or new trainer.

Wow, most Weaks I've ever received for giving a guy props while letting lesser informed people know they can find stuff like pressers online and don't have to hope that someone has found a one-off link.

I agree. I felt the same way when I saw Rampage about to fight Jones. You can kind of sense it in his demeanor. It's almost like Rashad has the "older pops" look to his disrespectful son and Jones feels it. Don't forget that this fight will be 75% mental....I wouldn't count Rashad out by a long shot.
But Rampage didn't beat Bones when they fought. So even if Suga has him worried; it will only help Jon in the fight.
And I thought the same thing when Rampage stood with him as well. I'm just hoping that Rashad can deal with what Bones brings to the table, and have an answer for for the problems that Jones style offers.
Of course Rashad isn't Rampage. I think Rashad is mentally stronger than Rampage and maybe Jones as well. Not counting Evans out at all.
Rashad is also much more well rounded than Jackson. He understands Jones better and is just a smarter fighter in general. The last couple fights guys have started to figure Jones out a bit more. I think Jones is gonna have some problems in this one.
In the mental game...Rashad owns Rampage.
I agree 100%. Thats what I've been saying about Suga all along. He's got a better chance than anyone that Bones has faced thus far. By far. And Rashad looks super confident going into this fight with Jones imo.
I don't know why but nothing that comes out of Jones's mouth seems natrual to me, and I don't think it's because he's fake I just don't think he's 100% comfortable in the position he's in. I want Rashad to win if he doesn't I hope the fight is competitive.

I noticed that too Keith. I guess they got everything off of their chests during the UFC Counterpunch interview. This was a completely different atmosphere compared to that segment.
Both men came out of this looking a bit more mature.
If I was Rashad, I would have it blazed into my mind..."Im gonna destroy Jones!"....then listen to sLaYeR 24/7 until the fight started.
Will you be friends afterwards?..."I dont know what God has planned for us" Shut up Jon, I seriously doubt God's plan is for him to hurt others for fame and profit. Just sayin....You want to praise God for your performance in regular sports fine, but dont pull that crap when you are fighting someone. I call BS on that crap.

Your insights are usually excellent, however I think you missed this,
"God" is Jon Jones analogy for Dana White, whenever you hear Jon use the word God, he means, "Dana".
Makes sense now right? :)
