UFC 144: Ryan Bader dominates Rampage Jackson
Posted on February 26, 2012, 12:14 AM by Anton GurevichThe Ultimate Fighter 8 winner, Ryan Bader, defeated Quinton Jackson in the co-main event of UFC 144 in Saitama, Japan, after dominating his opponent in every aspect of Mixed Martial Arts.
Bader's footwork and overall movement inside the Octagon prevented from Rampage Jackson to execute his gameplan. "Darth" scored points and did damage with short striking combinations, and leg kicks that forced Jackson look for a one-punch knockout. Jackson got Bader hurt with a vicious body slam, but was unable to get the TKO, as "Darth" recovered with a takedown and slam of his own.
Final round was an absolute dominance by Ryan Bader, who was now able to fully execute his gameplan. Rampage spent the round on his back defending submission attempts and with Bader ground and pounding his way to victory.
Ryan Bader improved his pro MMA record to 14-2. More than anything, "Darth" cemented his status as Top 10, if not Top 5 Light Heavyweight.

Rampage had an awesome slam!
To bad the not so exciting ground game was all we got to see after.
All of you were on Rampage's jock, I told everyone of you this would happen exactly this way.
"I told you so" posts are stupid.
I was sorry to see Rampage not hang around after the fight, because I think that was his last in the UFC, maybe ever.
Also, I curious to know what happened in his weight cut. Was he injured or was it hamburgeritis?
Bader looked good.
He injured his knee at some point.
definitely not his last
Losing to Bader has to be one of the most embarrassing loss of Rampage's career.
maintaining a caloric deficit without activity will waste as much if not more muscle than fat.
so injuries can certainly explain some difficulties cutting. That said, having less weight to cut is beneficial, maybe he didnt cut his calories to a maintenance level...
yea, he truely is not motivated , and a past prime 1 dimensional fighter
I predicted that Rampage would retire after this fight, but I still thought he would win. Anyway, we will see what happens in the post fight press conference if he is even there. Rampage looked TERRIBLE - I honestly thought it would be a lot like Hamill vs Page, but Bader impressed and Rampage under impressed.
Well nvm Rampage said he will continue, I'm glad but man, what a poor performance.
that wasnt rampage. that was james toney. its time for rampage to go to strikeforce where he can fight at catchweights. he can be the king of the 212 pounders.
burger king, in a class of his own...wheres my movie check bitches.
Ryan Bader shouldnt have won, he got lucky with rampage being hurt, in a fair rematch he would lose he couldnt even beat tito, Ryan Bader is awful!
Jackspn is ready for the loser-retires circuit
Bader vs winner of Nog-Gustafson would be a good one
i thought if rampage lost he should retire.
