No wonder Nick Diaz is so mad about the decision, he probably would of had a 100k + win bonus...

On the other hand, I think the UFC should up the minimum pay to 8k per fight... guys like Roy Nelson who fight there heart out, should also be getting more than 20k per fight... he is one of the bigger attractions to a card by now.

These payouts are so misleading garuntee Nick made close to a million if not more, everyone that finishes their fights also gets a bonus, and if you perform well UFC usually pays you in multiples of your contracted salary.

I always wondered about that. I'd like to know the source for your information? Not a call out, just curious.

he just regurgitated what lorenzo fertita said in his espn interview. i mean, word for word lol. im surprised he didnt say theyre pay scale rises 50% faster than the revenue does. which is so misleading but hey, in the end, i think they get paid enough, the undercard guys at 8k not so much, but anything over 15k is fine in my opinion, if you include all the extras especially. People always compare it to football or boxing salaries, in my mind, ufc fighters done get too little, as much as those other one's get wayyyyy too much.

I am not a pro capitalist for sure but what do you think would actually happen if football players got paid less? You think you'd get cheaper tickets or something like that? No it just means more money in other peoples pockets and to think that the players don't deserve their piece of the pie is ridicules imo. Same goes for the fighters in the UFC imo and its pretty simple. If the UFC is worth 3 billion its fighters should be worth at least 1.5billion.

im not saying that the owners etc should get all the money if the players got less, i think EVERYONE, should have a salary cap, from a plumber to the president, the distribution of wealth in the world is a huge problem, second to over population and that's about it ( if you think world hunger is a problem, sorry but its a combination of those 2, as are many other 'problems'..) truth is, if we were smart, and had any self control, we'd get to work on those 2 problems and then fix the other stuff after the results trickle down, but yeah, main point is : no one should make more than x amount of dollars a year. that number is debatable, maybe it's 1 million, maybe its 10 million, maybe its 300k, but when some poor lady has 3 kids, works 50hrs a week as a cashier, and brings home 30k a year, and then some other dude runs down a court and shoots a ball, gets 30million, there's a problem.

Renan Barao isn't paid very well. He's arguably a top 5 if not top 3 batamweight and made 22k.

How can Matt Riddle/Brown make more money than Barao?

Judging from the fact that every win bonus besides werdum was listed as a double up. I'm going out to say Nick Diaz lost 200 Gz because of the opinions of three individuals. I'm not saying he won this fight But I can understand the frustration in any decision when that money is on the line. $400 thousand in 25 minutes is GREAT!!

It's funny that Nick was whining at the press conference after the BJ Penn fight that he doesn't get paid then post fight after the Condit loss he said they're paying him way too much money. AND he got paid alot more than 200k believe that!!

What a joke Roy Nelson only 20 k and josh koscheck 146 k? this is just too much. Roy fights his heart out takes a beating and doesnt even go down, and meanwhile josh koscheck looked like shit hardly threw any punches.

Nelson's really getting robbed! I'm not a fan of the guy but it hard to see he works his butt off & comes to fight everytime out.

Dana must still be pissed at the burger king comment.

    $20k for Roy!?!?!

I always defend the UFC's payscale, but Big Country's gotta haggle for more.

He might have been told that he'd get a raise if he can successfully cut to Light Heavy. It's where Dana thinks he'd be a better fit, and from what we saw, he's making some good progress to that mark.

That is a hell of alot of weight to cut, 60 lbs? Id say its more likely he remains at heavyweight and weights around 225 to 230, if he drops some weight and gains speed he will be much better at heavyweight. If he had the speed he would of landed alot more shots against verdum and probably would of got on top of him when he knocked him down.

If Big Country lost just 5 more pounds, he'd already be at Forrest Griffin's walk around weight. There are a few guys that cut 25-30 pounds before a fight, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Nelson starting to fight there when he hit around 225.
