I think there are a few fight left at 145. But if he continues to win and so does Edgar, it's a fight made in heaven. I actually think if Edgar beats Bendo he should move down and fight, although Edgar has more to lose going down in weight than Aldo moving up.
If Edgar wins he still has a lot more opponents but to be fair Aldo has noone left, some people said Hioki but if Mendes could not get him down then no way in hell could Hioki.
There may be more people for Edgar to fight if he beats Bndo but Aldo is probbaly the best out of them anyway and Aldo has noone.
Really? Because I picked Mendes to win and I'm not too bad at making picks. Based on Aldo's last two performances, which I'm not saying were bad, but stylistically, picking Mendes to edge Aldo out on the scorecards wasn't an absurd gesture.
Lol, we all make absurd predictions on occasion, Anton just has a knack of making absurd predictions on a regular basis. I still lol at his saying Okami would beat Anderson.
Wasn't my intention to seem ****y, but rather I was only trying to explain the logic behind picking Mendes. He was undefeated, has a great wrestling base, a teammate that has previously fought Aldo, and in his two fights prior, Aldo seemed unusually vulnerable to the takedown. As for "rigging" LowPick, if that were true, I would actually get first every now and then... Instead, I've gotten second on multiple occasions, but never first. It drives me insane.
And @DLS, yeah sometimes it is just to mix things up... Especially when writing staff picks. Who wants to read a bunch of repetitive predictions, all picking the favorite, and all for the same reasons?
ill give it to you joey... you usually have good predictions. and on this one you made a mistake. but for anton its very usual
im not hating or anything but since he put okami, maynard and fitch on his top 10 p4p list i just lost respect for antons picks
then he said that dominick cruz was better than aldo and picked florian against him and okami against silva
i understand he is your friend and you have to stand for him but its clear that he wasnt picking mendes just to dont be repetitive. he just always picks against aldo
The UFC will not let any fighter hold two belts at the same time, so he'd have to give up the belt at 145 to fight at 155. If it ain't broken, why fix it?
A lot of people said Aldo gassed against Hominck because he had trouble making weight, but maybe that was a one time thing. Ask Chad if Jose looked good at 145.
I think the best way to become a p4p great is dominate your division for years. It's a misconception that the term "pound for pound" actually has anything directly to do with the weight you fight at.
There's Hioki still to beat, the guy's well respected and I've seen him pop up on P4P lists.
But, as Jose ages the weight cuts will only get harder. I think if Hioki beats Bart Palaeaeawedsdaaski (no idea how to spell his name) then let Jose smash him into oblivion and give him a contender fight at lightweight.
This weight cut wasn't nearly as hard as the cut against Hominick.
Jose Aldo might be big for FW, but it's not exactly him being too big for the cut. He handled his conditioning better this time, and looked amazing against a tough opponent.
Pretty sure Edgar can make 145 if he goes to the toilet before the weigh ins, I am fairly sure Aldo is bigger then Edgar. However I am not someone that likes super fights and I also think Aldo looks worse the bigger he gets, think he looked leaner this fight then in his last two and he looked the best he has in the UFC imo.
i think he should stay at feather... there are going to be on the next months a lot of great LWs that could be really good contenders for him. if edgar loses against bendo i think he will go down and challenge aldo
Comments
lets just see him fight middleweight so anderson silva can retire.

If Edgar wins, lets make the superfight!
He should stay right where he is.
Yep.
and B.J. should move down to challenge him
I think yes but not at them moment!
I think he should wait a while till the lightweight division clears up a bit just so he can have a better chance at adapting to his new weight!
Yea, i would really like someone to beat AS
I mean yes to moving to middle weight
Anton- when it comes to predictions you are the Randy Couture of Lowkick.com - Cheers!!!

It was pretty damn absurd actually lmao
But you usually are up there in the picks.
We all make absurd predictions here and there though. Keeps fights interesting

Not a good past two main event picks for ya Joe :). On the other hand for me...

Uh...no?

now who was it that said "Put your money on mendes"?
There's Hioki still to beat, the guy's well respected and I've seen him pop up on P4P lists.

We don't want to see another contender at lightweight. I think it should be Edgar he would be better to go down.
If Aldo moves up:
One more contender is ufc's most stacked division
others contenders will have to wait again and again before geting a title shot.
Who will be the featherweight champ??
If Edgar moves down:
One more contender in a not stacked division at all
It will be very interesting to see what happens in the lw division while Frankie is away.
Aldo probably doesn't want to continue having to make these progressively harder cuts though.
This weight cut wasn't nearly as hard as the cut against Hominick.
Jose Aldo might be big for FW, but it's not exactly him being too big for the cut. He handled his conditioning better this time, and looked amazing against a tough opponent.
if he stays in FW he have opportunity to be the best FW champion of all times. He has found his spot.
FW division is pretty new in the UFC and is constantly growing so there will be a lot of talent coming up there in a while.
moving up he would loose more than gain...
Stay at 145. No reason to go anywhere else right now. On top of that he'd be a tiny LW (5'7)
This weight cut wasn't nearly as bad as the Hominick cut.
I think he would do great at 155 also considering he already beat kenny florein and being 5'7 is not close to small for lw
Aldo is a great fighter but I think he'd struggle in the LW division for any prolonged period.
i think he should stay at feather... there are going to be on the next months a lot of great LWs that could be really good contenders for him. if edgar loses against bendo i think he will go down and challenge aldo
