The Nevada State Athletic Commission has released the final salary figures for fighters competing on Friday's UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem card from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Leading the way was former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, who earned $400,000 in a losing effort against promotional newcomer, Alistair Overeem, in the headlining bout. The fight appears to have been his last, as Lesnar announced his retirement immediately following the defeat.

In a not-so-distant second was his opponent, Overeem, who took home $385,714.28 for his first-round TKO win over Lesnar. With the victory, the Dutchman emerged as the division's number-one contender, and will now challenge Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos for the title sometime in 2012.

They guy's a vet and a solid gatekeeper. He's useful for that reason and his service warrants a good wage. What's wrong with that? Plus you know Dana's + the F brothers are big on respect,, trust and faith so they value guys like Vlad who have worked hard and been around for so long are always gonna standout in their workforce.

What's bullshit is Hendricks not getting paid more than Fitch despite knocking his block off in about 5 seconds. Jon Fitch is boring and obstinate, when he was refusing to fight they should have just let him go and be the BAMMA champ or hump the Bellator guys to death.

It's not like anyone would have said 'well the UFC's elite but I really wanna know if Jon Fitch could take out GSP'

You could say the same about all of lesnar's paychecks.

How much a fighter is paid is based on:

    1. how big his name is

    2. how good a fighter he is

Lesnar was without a doubt the least skilled fighter in the ufc and the most paid

why does everybody get an even figure, rounded off to the nearest 1000, then Reem is some whack figure, something to do with Golden Glory still ?

It seems that Alistair has been paid in euros. Those 385 714,28 $ equals to 30 000 euros.

The contracts set in stone before the fights bro. I'm pretty sure they hooked handpicks up for putting fitch away so fast.

That's why Fedor is not in the UFC. He receives twice of Brock and Overeem combined.

Yeah dude as far as a fighter purse. This doesn't take into account locker room bonuses and ppv %age. Do your HW.

Lesnar made $400,00 for just showing up and getting beat up in less than a round. He followed no game plan, did not try to use any of his super-hyped wrestling and instead tried to stand and bang with the reigning K-1 champion, collapsing after the second kick. Then he announced his retirement, which he had obviously planned in advance. I am sorry to say it, but it is now obvious that "one of the best HW in the world" (as he was marketed by the UFC until very recently) has been a hot air balloon all along and they just helped each other to make some money... from us.

I did like Lesnar's last words in the ring though. The guy went out in style and showed a softer and nicer part of himself - I respect that.

The rest, however, has been pro-wrestling bulls*it and that has been a shame.

The salary difference between Hettes, Phan and the other in the preliminaries before them is odd. Those two guys put on a great show.

Don't worry for them, they still have a percentage on PPV. Even if it's like 0.25%, I'll let you calculate but it's still not bad. Think about Brock and Overeem.

Kim is actually really big in south korea and is important to their growth in asia, so actually he is worth far more to them then that.

What the eff Brock Lesnar gets payed 400 quit for showing up and Alistar Overeem gets 380 for kicking his ass.

Lesnar should open up a retirement fund for donate the money to poor people who actually need it
