A Heavyweight showdown pitting former UFC Champion Brock Lesnar against former Strikeforce Champion Alistair Overeem will headline the stacked UFC 141 fight card, set to take place Friday, December 30th from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Also featured will be a Lightweight clash between Donald Cerrone and Nate Diaz in the co-main event, and a Welterweight tilt between former title challenger Jon Fitch and Jonny Hendricks.
Below are highlights from today's UFC 141 Conference Call, which featured headliners Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem:
Brock Lesnar
• I've been dealing with the same (steroid) accusations (as Overeem) my whole life. Being part of the spotlight and with the internet, social media, and everything now days, everybody knows everything. It's part of the lifestyle, it comes with the territory. I've been used to it for many years now. I haven't even following anything that's been going on with Alistair.
• I've had plenty of time to train, and now being healthy and once again motivated, I've been able to work on a lot of different things. This is a sport that you have to evolve in and you have to get better if you're going to stay on top in this organization.
• This is a Heavyweight fight. We're both going in to finish this fight. I don't foresee it going five rounds.
• Under all of the circumstance I've gone through, this is an opportunity that not too many people get. So, I'm excited about (being in title contention), absolutely.
Alistair Overeem
• Everybody has the right to ask whatever they want and I have a right to respond or ignore. I'm very busy with my career, training, my team, PR, doing interviews. I simply do not have time to get into these allegations. Usually they're over the internet, I don't even know these people.
• I'm prepared for the five rounds, I've been going five rounds for what seems like forever now. But, looking at the type of fighters that we are, we're aggressive. We are not the type of guys that back up. I don't see it really going past the first or the second round. Second round maximum.
• I am very happy with the opportunity that I've got fighting Brock. It's a dream fight for myself and the fans. Like Brock said, you shouldn't overlook your opponents. But, style-wise, I think me and Junior dos Santos would be striker vs striker, and I should have the upper-hand. He's clever, he's fast and I'm looking forward to fighting him after Brock.

Im rooting for Brock simply because so many have counted him out already including the "soon-to-be-tested" Overeem.
Im still waiting for your test results Alistar.
I dont think Reems test results will be an issue, he has gone through similar tests when he fought Rogers n Werdum...as for the fight, I got Lesnar via GnP wrestlers usually beat strikers...should be a fun fight to watch tho
Entity says, "and also for some pubes".
You must resemble a hairless cat, its the only thing I can take from your obsession with pubic hair. Check under your dress you might have a few.
Yes, I clicked "funny" but it's a skirt you dolt. dresses are one piece.
Well, I'm a Mir fan and have not been a Lesnar fan but maybe it is because Overeem has been respectful and Mir was shooting his mouth off.
N Mir said he wants Lesnar to die in the octagon
Lesner has a serious dislike for Mir. These two guys couldn't be nice to each other if you paid them.
If Lesner gets The Reem on the ground and is able to keep him there, it's gonna be a short night. The Reem will more than likely win in any kind of standup battle; unless Brock lands a heavy shot as a result of Alistar leaving his hands down.
Brock has problems with wrestlers who he outweighs by 50+ lbs. Overeem is not a wrestler but is just as big and strong as Brock and is an Abu Dhabi champion. Overeem will not be helpless on his back. On the ground It will depend on whether Overeem's BJJ is better than Brock's wrestling or vice versa. On the feet it is all Overeem. Overeem has many more ways to win. 65/35 Overeem.
he wasnt able to hold velasquez down.. so ehh
I just keep going back to when Brock did the gnp on Mir. His BJJ was a non-issue once Lesnar was crushing down on him in such a way that it made Mir imobile.
But Alistar is a tough cat and I'm not comparing him to Mir, but he may be able to avoid that part of Brock's game completly. The Reem usually fights with a solid gameplan.
Mir wanted to fight on the ground to utilize his BJJ, but Brock was too heavy!
I don't see that Brock has an outstanding wrestling. I did not see it in Couture fight, Cain and Carwin.
Mir also had nil wrestling ability. Overeem has shown that he has excellent take down defense (wrestling) and unlike Mir is good in the clinch.
Mike I see you watched the pre hype Vid....
I can't wait for UFC 141 between two of the biggest steroid abusers in all of MMA..LOL just kidding
