I honestly dont think anyone at 205 can beat him, at HW, the top 5 in that division would give him trouble but dont no if they can beat him for sure...I might get some heat for this but i think Jones is now top 2 p4p in the world, I dont really like him but u cant deny that hes amazing, the way he stopped Bader, Shogun, Rampage n Machida puts him infront of GSP imo

@whitemare you do no Reem once fought at 205 rite?? Reem basically looked exactly like Jones just a but more defined when he fought at pride n look at him now...so ya Jones has a chance at HW n Im not saying he'll beat everyone at HW like I said the top HW's will give Jones a run for his money but none of them are unwinable fights for Jones once he moves up

Jones already walks around at about the same weight that Cain Velasquez fights. He's got some pretty scrawny legs too. I could see him easily putting on about 25 pounds of muscle. He'd be at about 260 lbs and wouldn't even need to cut for his fight.

You should never begin a sentence with "Also". It's not grammatically correct, and...... ahh forget it. Who gives a sh**. Wait, should "Who gives a sh** " end with a question mark? Fu** it, it's more of a statement than a question. Lol !!!

Sorry, but beginning a sentence with the word also is grammatically correct as long as it continues a sequence of thought established in the preceding sentence or sentences.

Honestly I don't know, if Jones had enough time to prepare he'd put on a few extra pounds and probably wouldn't be much more of a size difference than it would be if he were to fight Hendo, would I pick Jones in that fight, probably not but I certainly wouldn't write him off like that.

Jones is a great champion with a lot of drive, but most of what he does is on pure talent, rather than experience. As good as he is a fighter, I don't know how much he'd actually be able to offer as a coach. You can't exactly teach 84.5" reach.

I still think Machida is the best answer to Jones. He was doing really well and took the first round. I think Jons size is a crippling factor for the fighters in this division as he outreached Machida by nearly a foot. I do think Machida is definetly better inch for inch but Jones was born with the right combo of size and reach. Anderson would bring the fight another 2 inches closer but he would be at a huge disadvantage for mass. There is nobody for Jones in this division unless he fights Machida again or Anderson moves up to give him a threat.

I 88% agree. The biggest reason Machida lost was because he stayed in close when he should have retreated. That allowed Jones to get the choke. I think that if there is ever a rematch Machida will fight better. He may lose in the third or he may win but he will do better. As for Anderson, if Machida did that well in the first, Silva would clown Jones. 1st round KO.

Silva would be face planted just like Machida. Remeber Sonnen knocked Silva on his arse with punches more than once in their fight, Imagine what Jones would do as he is light years ahead of Sonnen.

I disagree. Silva would not be able to "clown" Jones as say he did with Griffin. Styles make fights and Silva would have his hands full with the reach, speed and stamina of Jones. Machida fought his fight in the first round and then Jones adjusted and game over. A rematch would net the same result without the first round success by Machida.

Honestly, that really isn't a dumb comment. There are like three different versions of Shogun. I picked Jones to win that fight but the truth is he did not beat the best Shogun. If the Shogun that destroyed Forest and had a war with Hendo had showed up that night it may have looked closer. Personally, I think Jones would still win because Shogun is too easy to take down but then again, he avoided Hendo's takedowns.

Jones looked human tonight. Machieda won the 1st round. but that choke was crazy. It'll be a much tougher ride for jones now that some of his weaknesses have been shown in his stand up game. That chin is still questionable. However, Jones also has shown that he can hold it together after being hurt. Great win for Jones.

Only one guy left who has a serious chance to take Jones and that's the #2 p4p fighter on the planet, Anderson Silva.

Yeah, I'm calling it. Jones is no. 1.

Look at their last 4 fights. The competition Jones has beaten far outclasses Silva's opponents recent opponents. Machida, Rampage, Shogun, Bader for Bones, Okami, Belfort, Sonnen and Maia for the spider.

Silva has fought quality opponents, but have they won anything? Bones has destroyed legends.

You might not agree now, but I've been saying it for awhile now....you'll see...

The only person that can defeat jon jones is jon jones. I'm not talking about a mortal kombat mirror match but rather jones being the cause of his failure. If jones looses his passion and drive he will lose his belt quickly.

The idea anyone on the lhw division could stand a chance against the jones from ufc 140 is wishful thinking plane and simple.

Can you say H-Bomb??? It's really the only chance at LHW I can think of, an H-Bomb somehow landing. He doesn't move like Machida, but Hendo would knock him TFO if one connected. We know Hendo will absorb anything in the way in order to do that. That would be heroic in my opinion. Chant with me, HENDO HENDO!!!!! jaja

Gegard could give JJ a good run for his money if he tightens up his wrestling. He's a far superior striker at the moment than Jones, and well versed in grappling. I just don't think he could handle the wrestling aspect of the sport at the moment. The UFC should really be trying to get GM over as soon as they can, he's young and has great potential. Jon isn't going to stay at LHW for long, he's going to move up within a few years.

Also, Rashad does have a good chance as well, he's quicker and has the wrestling to back himself, so really Rashad should be next in line for JJ not Hendo. I don't think Hendo would be able to negate the reach of JJ, it's possible but highly unlikely unless he can be on top, which is doubtful.

In a kick boxing match Gegard would clown Jones. In MMA there is no way he can tighten up his wrestling enough to stay off of his back. I wish he could because he is one of my favorite fighters and Jones is a douche but I just don't believe it.

Holy Shit All you Machida fans are completely delusional. Yes he won round 1.............Then say it out loud what happened next. Jones is a bad man and he's only gonna get better.

It will start all over when the Rashad fight comes and he will do the same to him. There's alot of talent at 205........then there's Jonhnny Bones. And for everyone that's not a fan or a believer every fight will be there next chance to start believing he just might get beat THIS TIME. And Jones will do the same to Hendo that Anderson did.

The funny thing is most of us Bones haters (yeah I admit it) thought he was great until he started getting a lot of press and we got to hear him more. If he isn't liked it is his own fault for coming across as phony and arrogant. The guy reminds me of a used car salesman or a televangelist.

His own fault, even though it's in the contract that he has to talk crap on demand in order to hype up fights. His "arrogant" talk is the only part of his interviews that has seemed non-genuine. If you look at the interviews that aren't scripted at all (post fight usually) he's fairly consistent. He thanks God, but doesn't ram religion down people's throat. He credits hard work, preparation, and Greg Jackson tactics for beating his opponents. He recognizes that his beaten opponent was actually dangerous in their own right. Finally, he acknowledges that he still has room for improvement and he needs to stay on top of his game or he'll be beaten. He seems fairly grounded and self-aware for such a young fighter. I've yet to see him jump on board his own hype train in an interview.

Henderson doesn't use his wrestling much though. He has good TDD, but he has almost a skillset similar to Rampage(good TDD, great Chin, powerpunches, not good of his back, no submissions). If Hendo would fight Jones I think the fight will look the same.

More to the point, Henderson's the classic wrestler, in that he's fairly well neutralized if you put him on his back. Matyushenko's better off his back than Hendo, and we already saw what Jones did to him.

Jones is a talented young man, machida got him with a few good strikes that 1st rd and had jones backing up. so the way i see it, if hendo can get on the inside n connect it could be a bad night for jones.IMO hendo has alot more power then machida but also alot slower which will be his downfall

Machida showed tonight that the way to hit Jones is to be faster than him, time his incredibly long punches, and close the distance and hit him before he can recover. The only guy on this list who has the speed and athleticism to pull that off is Rashad.

As great a striker as Hendo is, he is far more comparable to Rampage and Shogun in terms of his style. Neither of those guys could land a punch. I don't see him taking Jones down (or even attempting it) - that's just not his style at this point. Yeah, an H-Bomb could separate Jones from his senses, but you can't KO what you can't touch.

Lil Nog would not even have the option of taking the fight to the ground because Jones is a far better wrestler. He would get picked apart on the feet. He has good boxing. Good boxing cannot beat a diversified striker like Jones.

Phil Davis' only chance would be to outwrestle Jones...he would get completely outclassed on the feet. If anyone can put Jones on his back, its Davis, but I would have to bet on Jones TDD being good enough to eventually TKO Davis.

I'd like to see Dos Santos defend his belt before we all jump on his bandwagon. I don't think he will be able to beat Brock or the Reem in all honesty.

Brock takes him down OR gets KOd in the first. The Reem walks right through him (regardless of how he handles Brock). Honestly if Cain wasn't coming off of an injury and year long lay off, I think that fight would have looked a lot different. I am not jumping on that bandwagon yet either.

every one jumped on cains bandwagon long before he was champ. junior has just as, if not a more impressive streak in the ufc and yet most people still doubt him, and i think its mainly because people cant accept that the best hw in mma is basically a pure boxer. to say reem walks through dossantos imo is rediculouse. junior is the excact type of fighter that overeem always has and always will lose to.

You post the most uneducated comments man. JDS is not of the caliber that Overeem fought in K-1. Since he doesn't have to worry about the ground Overeem will do exactly what he did in K-1. He will bulk up, stay covered and land one BIG shot. Good night Irene. JDS also is not a "pure boxer". He uses a stance that allows him to defend take downs which he does very well. Defending take downs is wrestling. He can work from the clinch (wrestling/muay thai). He is also at least a brown belt in BJJ. That said, I do agree with you about Santos' record. Of all of the title picture HWs in the UFC he probably has the best recent competition. However, he has seen the ground, he took the title from a guy who hadn't fought in a year and there are some scary dudes on the horizon. If he get's past the winner of Overeem V Lesner, the winner of the SF Grand Prix and a rust free Cain, THEN I might believe that he is the second coming of Fedor. Until then, he is an excellent fighter but we have seen a lot of fighters in his position dethroned quickly and unceremoniously.

I agree, but make it 240 lbs, and move the cap for heavyweight to 280. Could be some great fights at 240. We might even see a few LHWs (Jon Jones and Forrest Griffin come to mind) move up.

Hendo has the only chance. Evans is the same fighter he has been for the past 4 years. Phil davis doesn't have enough tools in his stand up game. Other then that literally theres no one else that could give this guy a challenge. Kinda scary tell you the truth and as far as this super fight that people are talking about. That literally makes no sense for him to fight silva.

Mousasi is a good pick. But on the realistic horizon I'd like to see Hendo get a shot before age completely engulfs him. He is 40 years old and does'nt have the best cardio, but he'd give Bones all he could handle for a full two rounds. If he does'nt finish the fight before the third round, his chances go from good to bad real quick!

I'm just not sure if he could get around the reach unless he bated Bones into a slugfest of some sort.

Everyone has the chance but all of them are very slight when you consider size, athleticism and mma technique. Everyone says machida speed was the secret. Bullshit, Machida is ellusive and it is not eay to take him out right away. He only lasted 2round with Jones. Thats how much Bader lasted. He got his ass put to sleep standing up. Hendo has a 71'reach against Jones 84.5'reach.... Everyone needs to wake up a smell the coffee.......

Hendo lost to Rampage by Unanimous decision

What makes you think he'll dethrone Bones who just gave quinton the beatdown of his life?
