UFC 138 delivered an action-packed line-up today from the LG Arena in Birmingham, England. "The Filipino Wrecking Machine " Mark Munoz bruised and battered Chris Leben in the headlining bout, picking up a second-round TKO victory via corner stoppage to extend his current winning streak to four. In the co-main event, top Bantamweight prospect Renan Barao solidified his place as a contender, chocking-out Brad Pickett in the opening-round, while former Welterweight title challenger Thiago Alves scored his first submission victory inside of the octagon, defeating UFC newcomer Papy Abedi. Also picking up impressive wins via tap-out were Anthony Parosh, who submitted Cyrille Diabate in the second stanza, and Terry Etim who locked up a guillotine to defeat Eddie Faaloloto in just 17-seconds.

The UFC awarded generous $70,000 bonuses to the night's top performers, who were announced by Dana White immediately following the event.

Very impressed with Che Mills striking it looked crisp and fluid, and those two knees were perfection as well. Also Etim looked like a man on a mission for all 17 seconds of his fight. All in all the main card of this fight was packed with lost of action, some of the prelim's were a bit slow but the main card made up for that.

How does Baro vs. Pickett get fight of the night? It was kind of short and one-sided.

It's these smaller cards with lesser named fighters that always bring the most exciting fights.

I'm glade Alves handled that schmuck Abedi, because that kid came out WAY to ****y for being a no named Swede going up against what can always be a devastating force in Alves. I was even happier to see the way Alves handled himself throughout the fight, it really seems like he has grown as a fighter.

Don't think Pickett deserved fight of the night just for being a strong chinned punching bag for the onslaught of punishment from Barao's wicked hands and knees. That award should have gone to the main event of the evening.

Also very impressed with the UFC debut of Che Mills even though it was against a less skilled fighter, I really think this kid has a bright future with the UFC.

Over all a much better card than anticipated which is why I always get excited for these "No Name" cards because they always bring the fight to the fans. It may be a lack of skill or mismatched fights, but these cards are a hell of a lot of fun to watch!
