UFC 138 Pre-Fight Press Conference: Chris Leben and Mark Munoz promise "Bombs Away" on SaturdayPosted on November 4, 2011, 01:05 PM by Joey Santosus
Chief of International Development Marshall Zelaznik, alongside the majority of Saturday's main card competitors, gathered at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England for the UFC 138 Pre-Fight Press Conference. The fight-card will be headlined by a Middleweight showdown between Chris Leben and Mark Munoz, while top Bantamweight contenders Brad Pickett and Renan Barao will go head to head in the co-main event. Also featured will be a Welterweight clash pitting Thiago Alves against promotional newcomer Papy Abedi and a Light Heavyweight tilt between veterans Anthony Perosh and Cyrille Diabate.
UFC 138 Pre-Fight Press Conference Video and Highlights:
• It's pretty awesome (to be in the main event). This is what we work for, this is why we're here in the UFC. We want to be the best and I definitely want to be the best. I'm getting closer and closer and this is one of the steps to get there, so I'm definitely going to take it.
• (Chris Leben) throws bombs, he does, and I throw bombs too. So, bombs away. It's going to be an exciting fight for sure because he brings it and I bring it. He's different because he brings the fight and he comes to fight and he's a natural born fighter. I bring the fight too, that's why Joe Silva and Dana White put this match-up together, because we both bring it.
• Some guys let (headlining) get to them, I guess. You have to sit there and watch every body go out and come back bloody, and go, "S---, it's still not my turn yet." But, as far as I'm concerned, I'm here to do my job. I don't care if there's 10,000-20,000 people watching or two people watching. I don't care if there's 100 fights before me, I only have one fight that I need to worry about and that's Mark (Munoz). That's the only thing that I'm focusing on right now and nothing changes nothing. Once that cage door closes, we're trying to kick the s--- out of each other.
• When (the UFC) offered up Mark and said main event, I said "Great, that's a great idea." Why? Because just like Mark said, we both throw bombs. You guys are going to have a main event that you're not going to have to worry about. Sometimes we put these main events together because of their names and it sucks. We're going to get in there and we're going to do it. I promise you a great show. (Munoz: I second that.)
