UFC 134 Results: Minotauro Nogueira KO's Brendan Schaub

Nogueira looked in excellent shape, dominating the center of the Octagon and constantly going after Brendan Schaub. However, "The Hybrid" looked good as a counter-striker. Schaub connected with some well-timed uppercuts, and managed to defend every single one of Nogueira's takedown attempts. But just as this fight looked in Brendan Schaub's pocket, Nogueira unleashed a perfect combination that stunned the Denver, Colorado native. Big Nog continued with a series of punches, as Schaub's knees betrayed him, forcing the referee to stop the action at 3:09 minutes of Round 1.
The victory over Brendan Schaub is Nogueira's first since the UFC 102 triumph over Randy Couture. Big Nog now finds himself once again in the mix for a shot at the title, what he himself labeled as his "last run for glory".

That was awesome, so good to see - I have to admit I was shocked by the result tho. Hope it wasn't a one off and Nog is really back to the best he can be. : )

I don't mind Brendan but he was definetly getting ahead of himself, mental and skill wise. Just like the Roy Nelson fight, I think this will be nothign but a benefit to him (for his fight game in the long term).
Nog's chin looked like it was back to its old ways but to be honest I never thought it was bad afetr his two KO losses. We have to remeber that the current #1 HW in the world that has only not stopped the fight once is the culprit of one of Nog's KOs and the other is a man who seriously hits like a freight train.
Being knocked out by Mir or Velasquez is about embarassing as being hurt by getting ran over by a bus.
Nog has even admitted he wasn't sure if he was 100% and in the fight his front leg even looked a bit stiff but he still came out with a big win and in brilliant fashion! I am calling for Mir next, Carwin is a possibility and so is Lesnar if he comes back soon but I still think Mir is right for him at this time.

i love big nog, but he looked kinda slow and old before the knockout. that kid was punching his face in. still a great win for a great fighter. best of luck to shuab. he still has some big wins ahead of him. he goes for it which is what i wish more fighters would do.
