It was do or die for Tito Ortiz, but "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" managed to withstand the pressure by submitting Ryan "Darth" Bader in the first round of their encounter at UFC 132.

Ortiz opened well with leg strikes and "safe" striking combinations, as Ryan Bader responded with strikes of his own. However, in what was probably the most important moment in Tito Ortiz's career, Bader found himself knocked down on the canvas after getting tagged with a powerful right hand. Ortiz immediately went for the kill by grabbing Bader's neck in a very tight Guillotine Choke.

Ryan Bader had no choice but to tap out, by this awarding Tito Ortiz his first victory since the 2006 trilogy but against Ken Shamrock.

Tito Ortiz is now 16-8 in his MMA career, successfully recovering after three-fight winning streak. It was a truly emotional moment for Ortiz, and a proof of the warrior spirit the Huntington Beach Bad Boy displayed throughout his career. What's next for Tito? Vladimir Matyushenko sound like a good option.

Its crazy to think not long ago he was an undefeated contendor being considered a future champion, now he has 2 straight losses including a loss to Tito Ortiz (a man with a 5 year losing streak).

Jones wasn't being too aggresive because he knew if he won he would get a title shot within a couple of months so he couldn't risk a injury. Jones got what looked like an easy submission without being aggressive or taking damage, Tito did great, but Jones did better.

Safer? The longer you stand with someone that has knockout power, the more chances you're giving him to knock you out. Tito made it short and sweet. Besides, Ortiz is incapable of using Jon Jones' gameplan the same way Jones did, because he lacks JJ's ridiculously long Go-Go Gadget limbs.

I'm stoked for Tito! yeah he's been a bit of a drama queen and trash talker and always rants on during interviews but let's be honest, he's still a top level fighter and has been doing this longer than most. I mean he gave a good fight to machida, evans and forrest , all of whom could not finish him. All those guys have dealth to a number of top tier guys in there career.

First, good for you Tito. Second, I think this fight says more about Bader than it does about Tito. I have been saying for a long time that Bader is overrated and I think this proves it. People who have had him prematurely ranked in the top ten have just been wrong. The only decent guy he has beaten is Lil Nog and I personally thought that Nog won that fight.

I'm still in shock over the Barry vs. Kongo fight, and then this happens. I don't think my nerves can take much more. Who the hell expected anything like that?

I think this is the first time since 2006 that Tito has trash talked someone and actually followed through on it.

Agreed. Tito consistently fights top competition and gets beaten. He never really gets dominated but he doesn't win. He is easily in the top of the mid tier but he will never re-enter the top ten.

Bader, like Tito, is a solid middle tier fighter and that is it.
