Dennis Siver continued his winning ways inside the Octagon with a victory over Matt Wiman as part of main card action of UFC 132 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dennis Siver had a very strong performance in Round 1, beating Wiman in every aspect of Mixed Martial Arts, but "Handsome" returned in Round 2 with effective wrestling and BJJ game that almost put Siver away. Wiman's ground and pound opened bloodied up Siver, but the German managed to regain control in Round 3 on his way to a Unanimous Decision victory.

Fourth consecutive victory for Dennis Siver, as the kickboxing maestro cements his status as one of the top 155'ers on the planet. Siver officially joins the race for a title shot, with Melvin Guillard and Jim Miller being the main contenders on his radar.

a split would have seemed more reasonable, but it wasn't a bad call.

The judges finally got it right. Enough with the whole LnP thing.

How did the judges get it right?? I agree lay n pray shouldn't be rewarded as much as it is but Wiman was landing some nasty elbows on the ground and those were arguably the most damage either one of them dished out. Wiman should've had the decision Siver didn't do much at all.

Wiman did more damage doing "LnP" than Siver managed in the entire three rounds of the fight. Your bias is clouding your judgement. Wiman was more aggressive, controlled the octagon more, and landed shots both on his feet and while he was delivering shots to siver's face.

If they use the same sumb system that favors wrestlers then i agree Siver lost

But the decision of Siver winning seems to be the right one , it just seems wrong because we are used to the dumb system

This should be a massage to all the wrestlers that just hug their opponents on the fence until they take them down and make time and think they deserve to win just because they are scoring points!

This is no wrestling match to score points this is a Fight!

so im very happy Siver got the W!

Again, people seem to forget that "Damage" is not among the judging criteria in Mixed Martial Arts. What is, however, is effective striking, which can sometimes be evident in the amount of damage said strikes inflict on their opponent. But again, damage itself is not part of the scoring system and for good reason. Some fighters will cut and bruise more easily than another. Look at a guy like Wandi, Marcus Davis, even Fedor Emelianenko with his nose.

Siver got busted up, he stuffed a few takedowns, but ultimately he lost that fight in my opinion. A bad decision. A close one, but still a bad decision.

I don't see what everyone else saw saying Wiman won? Siver was getting better of the stand up exchanges throughout, he took Wiman down a couple of times in first and the second and throughout the fight he was doing great with defending the takedowns therefore choosing where the fight took place (earning points).

I agree he lost the second but I thought it was pretty easy to see he won 1 and 2.

I was still impressed with Wiman though, some nasty elbows!

Not sure who Siver is going towards next, maybe a rematch with Guillard

I think Guillard should fight Guida to see who gets the winner of Edgar V Maynard III. Siver can fight the loser of that fight or Bendo. I think he is still a fight or two away from a title shot considering the depth in this division.

I agree the fight was close, but I gave the fight to Siver for round one and three. Siver's takedown defense made Wiman look like a staller as he pressed Siver up against the fence over and over with no success.

I am biased against lay and pray or in this case, press and pray against the fence, so Siver edged out Wiman on my scorecard.

BTW: Elbows on the ground can easily cut a fighter and appear to be more damage than they are. Those elbows won the 2nd round for Wiman, but were not as damaging as they appeared just because they cut Siver.

The only round that was close was round 3, but I felt Siver won that round with effective striking and aggression. Siver clearly won R1, Wiman clearly won R2. In my opinion there should be no controversy here the judges finally got it right.

A takedown at the end of round 1 for 5 seconds DOES NOT nullify all the effective striking and aggression of Siver! If you think Wiman won round 1 you need to reevaluate your mental state.

Round 3 was close, but Wiman was not effective in much of anything while Siver was still being aggressive and landing better strikes.
