UFC 132 Results: Chris Leben KO's Wanderlei Silva in 27 Seconds

Potential "Fight of the Year" between Wanderlei Silva and Chris Leben lasted only 27 seconds, with "The Crippler" having his hand raised after just 27 seconds inside the Octagon.

Silva was more aggressive during the first seconds of the fight, landing leg strikers and well-timed combos that put Chris Leben behind. Wanderei Silva unleashed another perfect combination that rocked Leben for a split second, but that's exactly when "The Crippler" went into the "beast mode".

Leben responded with overhand right, followed by strong left cross that landed hard on Silva's head. The Axe Murderer tried to lock Leben into Muay Thai clinch, as Leben fired back once again with TNT-like uppercuts that knocked down the PRIDE legend down on the canvas. Ground and Pound got the job done, in what was one of the most brutal finishes in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Wanderlei Silva was completely out, trying to fight the referee Josh Rosenthal for a few "worrying" seconds. Crippler bounces back from TKO defeat against Brian Stann, but the real question is - was it Wandeco's last fight in the UFC?

It is a fact that the more you get KO'd the easier you will get KO'd. Wand is great but if he keeps getting these kinds of loses I don't think he should continue fighting much longer (its the Chuck conundrum).

Where did you hear that? I've never heard that fact before. I do know however that as a person ages the brain begins to shrink, thus giving it more room to move in.

I hate seeing legends go down like this, but it's just the way the fight business is. Wanderlei has always been my favorite fighter, but I hope for his and his family's sake that he hangs up the gloves.

It seems to be a normal thing for this sort of thing to be happening to big legends

Wandy is done. thank you for all the great fights and coming to fight, always. One thing that no one can say about wanderlei is that he ever fought for points and put on a boring show. A legend always

Ok it's time for Wandy to hang them up. If he keeps fighting he's going to need more face surgeries and he'll end up looking like a Brazilian Michael Jackson.

Sad but not that unexpected , hes had a looooong carrer!

he can still fight i mean he put a beating on Bisping and some people

consider Bisping legit ... so maybe some more guys like him for Wandy before he hangs his gloves, hes still and exciting fighter

Something that seems to be vanishing from the sport.

Great win for Leben I knew he'd knock Silva out in the first, however it really annoys me seeing guys come off long lay offs'. Rampage made a great point on Versus when he said that the UFC should give guys ''warm up fights'' like he used to get in Pride.I understand why they don't but I can't help but wonder what would have happened if Leben fought an active Silva.

    This is huge for Leben

    He looked amazing

    Wandy looked like a drunk

    Ring rust is real

    Age is a factor

    Wand was an amazing fighter

    Still a legend

I dont want to see him go down like Chuck liddel did

I hope he makes the right decision

Great KO by Leben but I really felt sad and dissapoined for and in Wandy. I don't want to see him going out like Chuck, in my opinion I think as sad as it may be its time to hand up the gloves.

I think Dana White might give Wanderlie one more shot, if he does it should be against a lower level fighter.

Cro Cop vs. Wanderlei for a retirement fight! That would be a good revenge match for Silva too. Of course it isn't going to happen but we can all have dreams.

before people write of wand remeber the guy who have ko'ed him cro-cop,rampage and now leben all fighters known for their ko power. the reality is this was a bad matchup for wand he cant resist a slugfest and chris is a better brawler. although wand is a better fighter in almost every way even a prime wand would lose to leben 7 out of ten times

When you say a "prime Wandy" do you mean a Wanderlei from 8 years ago? Because that Wanderlei would destroy Leben.

well, the rampage jackson's curse, after he checks your chin and he knocks you out cold, you have nothing left no-more, look at what happen to the ice man ladell, he was the man in the ufc before rampage came in ufc, after jackson was done with him, anybody\everybody, was knocking him out, even guys, that had no punching power was knocking him out, (evans) he's first real knock out power punch on chuck ladell, rich franklyn beat him with a broke arm, lolol need i say more?. now its (Wanderlei Silva), i like the guy, but he needs to stop going punch for punch with people who has more power den him, he will get knock out every time, change your style wanderlei, its not good no-more, do you want to fight longer? den stop, i hate seeing my best fighters that i like lose.

ive been saying for a while that wandy should be retired, this just proves that he needs to. you need to have a good chin to be able to fight like wandy and leben do. wand doesnt, this was the result.

I honestly don't know if you can say Wand has no chin from this. He stood still in front of Leben and allowed himself to get repeatedly uppercutted in the face. I think the result would have been the same for anyone at Middleweight. It's about like how people were saying Bisping had no chin after he got knocked out by the H-Bomb.

the age of wand is over. u could see the ring rust.. he looked like an amateur. he was trying to go crazy like he did back in pride. but u can see he is just too slow and old now.

he needs to follow mirko and chuck and understand he cant keep up.

dana wont cut him yet bc he still has draw. but who wants to see a legend ruin his great record. i fetl bad for him last night, that was embarrassing

It isn't about his record - 33-11 or whatever. It is about his legacy, and him remaining healthy from here on out. If he continues to get knocked unconscious he is going to be debilitated for life, and no real fan of W. Silva wants to see that.
