Hard-hitting Heavyweights Junior Dos Santos and Shane Carwin will meet this weekend in the main event of UFC 131, as the winner will get a shot at the UFC Heavyweight title. Both Carwin and Dos Santos have a professional MMA record of 12-1 with 23 finishes (out of 24 victories), 22 of them in Round 1.

The event will be headlined by Kenny Florian's UFC Featherweight debut, against the Nova Uniao product Diego "The Gun" Nunes (16-1 in MMA). Two-time UFC Lightweight title challenger Kenny Florian will look to make a statement against Nunes, with sights on challenging Jose Aldo for his three-times-defended UFC Featherweight title.

UFC 131 will take place at the 18,500-capable Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Both guys are class acts, Neither one of them have the personality of Lesnar or Mir. But it is Carwin's turn again. Carwin is going to come in in better shape than he was for the Lesnar fight and he is going to do the clinch game with Dos Santos. Dos Santos will be champion some day, just not this soon.

    Carwin - 1st round TKO

there is no way Kenny is KOing that kid. If he dares stand with him he's going out. If Kenny's smart he'll wrestle him to a decision or try to catch him with a sub

carwin has the best heavyweight stand up? maybe the most power but not the best. He is always looking for 1 shot cos he knows he has the power, and he is a big danger but i see santos being too fit, too fast and showing he has the best stand up and as long as he doesn't try to slug it out with carwin then i see santos picking him apart.

Carwin's dialogue seems so irritating. Its like every other word is. a sentence.

    Case in point:

Carwin: "Junior Dos Santos. Can take a punch. So Can I. "

The only time he was talking normal is when he was explaining how he lost to Brock.

I got this fight as a double knockout both men put to sleep.

Yea, just seems like he knows what he wants to say... If it sounds a bit rehearsed, you gotta remember that they are asked the same questions about 100 times ahead of their fight, so it pretty much is.

    @ Joey

Understood. But this is the 'hype' before the fight. Don't put Dos Santos to sleep before the actual fight that rehearsed (mono tone voice) intimidation.

Lol, Carwin does have that tone about him... I guess its just part of his persona. At least he is trying tho. In reality, he seems to be a quiet, soft spoken guy, so maybe he is working on a personality that will match his in-ring alter-ego.

Carwin's trainer is definitely talking more than Carwin. The dude almost comes off as a d!ck.

C'mon tho... Think about it for a second. What if that was your fighter? Wouldn't you be a bit confident and/or excited to see him compete? Its almost like having a rabid pitbull you are about to release on a poodle. Well, in this case, I wouldn't exactly call JDS a poodle, but generally speaking lol
