not saying that that was not a bit childish but still, he knows the dangers Shogun brings to the table, if he didnt repsect him at all then he wouldnt be fighting fo rthe title right now. To get to the top you have to be able to accept the fact that your opponent has the ability or skill to beat you, therefore you train so that his abilities will not be on oyur level. Jones did the same thing were doing, hes picking a winner, and suprise suprise its himself.

All jokes aside, I tend to remember when Liddell and Machida fans proclaimed Rua was 'deadmeat'. It only gave Mauricio more fuel to burn. Both fights ended in the first round via TKO.

Whereas you train at Greg Jackson's camp with not a single credential to your name in BJJ. Oh yea, his biggest weakness is his Jiu-Jitsu [sarcasm]. By all means, Jones please try and grapple with Rua and let's see how far you get. If it were me though, I'd stick to only taking him down and using ground-and-pound.



P.S. - Don't stand and trade with Shogun either. The odds are great that you will get KTFO. Trust me Jon, if Alistair failed to TKO/KO Rua then you have no chance in hell. Not trying to be irrational, but it's the truth. No one has ever knocked out or really outstruck Mauricio. In addition, you have no major knock out power. All of your UFC TKO wins come via flurries from the ground-and-pound position.

Jon Jones is my 4th favorite fighter, while Shogun is my 3rd and quite honestly - I have not seen one clip whatsoever where Jon Jones was being disrespectful towards Shogun. shogun is a professional hands down he has beat more top fighters in mma then anybody who ever fought.. If he is angry he can control it for sure....just a reminder shogun finished almost all his fights in the first round and like i said most were the best of the best....he had a hick-up when first in the ufc but i don't think that should matter at all..Jon jones is a good fighter i would not say great yet. can he beat shogun we will see a fight is a fight...But if you compare the two fighters side by side on paper it would be a huge NO!
