UFC 127 Wrap-Up and Bonuses

Love him or hate him, you have an opinion on Michael Bisping.



The knee to the head is not an officially sanctioned move in the cage and Jorge showed why he is a fairly respected fighter by continuing.



Outside the Octagon a knee to the head is a perfectly acceptable move in a street fight and Jorge had set this up for a brawl giving him the punchers chance of victory he required against a technically superior fighter. Although from a gentlemans perspective Michael should not have kneed him in the head, Jorge had not set this up as a gentlemans fight and he paid the consequences in the same way as Michael did when he made the mistake of bad mouthing a certain hall of famer.



Although no one could claim that Michael had devestating power, in this fight, excellent cardio combined with decent combination punches proved enough for Jorge to be unable to continue.



Due to my bias towards Michael for this fight, I had hoped he would allow Jorge back up to punish him further...



Although I agree that the knee to the head is unacceptable, I believe that this action will give Michael an air of unpredictability against future opponents.



I believe that Michael will get his title shot after two more fights, IMO, he doesn't quite have the class to be the UFC Champion but he is definately a worthy contender and I look forward to the possibility.

I hope he does get a Title Shot only because i know Anderson Silva would F**K him up... like super bad

I agree, Michael and Andersson are worlds apart and I cannot imagine how Michael could win Andersson without resorting to his Ninja training background, smoke bombs, throwing stars and knees to the head in the confusion.

and Just to be 99% sure I suggest he also bring a 9mm with him as a back up when all else had fail :)

On the subject of looking at what I am saying, it sounds like a street fight would immediately go close range with biting, stomps and eye poking (gauging do you mean??) - this would then be followed by guns...



As I look at what you are saying here, it seems like the participants in your imaginary street fight would get up close and personal before using a gun. Wouldn't you say that would defeat the purpose of taking a gun to a fight. Most people using a gun would probably say they would prefer not to pull a gun out whilst close quarter grappling.



Saying that, I appreciate your feedback, there was a distinct lack of respect which spilled over into a drama filled pre and post fight. Pretty much a promoters dream, wouldn't you say?

Dennis Siver has a great style, close and marginally deserved fight.



Kyle "Noked" Choke looked very impressive, I look forward to following his success.



I really gained respect for Chris Lytle after his last fight, (I hadn't paid him attention before) - I thought Brian deserved the win and found his style entertaining- good victory over a talented and respectable fighter.



Glad to see little Ross Pearson continuing to progress, good stepping stone against another respectable opponent.

BISPING yeah jorge deserved it hes a bum and shudnt have been fighting bisping in the first place

I think bisping isnt near a top contender spots he makes alot of technical mistakes in his striking he always backs away with his chin straight up in the air and his hands low when the presure is put on and anybody with some knowledge of striking and power could finish him

plus that finish was pretty weak

i think fitch is a great fighter but he is boring as hell like come on how do you make a fight against bj penn that boring like obviously bj wasnt his exciting self either but any fighter who does lays on you and just wants to get a win doesnt deserve a title shot.

Great point about Michaels technical mistakes there, I hadn't seen them (probably due to personal bias - thanks). Personally I would like to see him have a shot but can understand your point at the same time.
