UFC 126 Aftermath: What should be next for Anderson Silva?

Been wanting to see Silva GSP for so long now, but seeing Jones last night, i would prefer to see him face Silva, as at last Silva would be facing someone equal in size and IMO someone better than himself.

Let Jones capture LHW title first, then we'll seee...

after okami that division is cleaned, he should move up or down. i think he should move up cause both of his light hw bouts were prettty exciting, IMO

I think GSP has the best shot at defeating AS.

A. S. has only fought two wrestlers in his UFC career, Henderson was the first to win a round against him and sonnen 4 and a half rounds. He is lucky that the middleweight division has the least high calibre wrestlers in the UFC.

The last time GSP knocked someone out in the first round was in 2004. The last time Silva did was about an hour ago. Maybe you should give him his respect.

GSP is just Sonnen with BJJ and stand up....oh, wait. That would work.

He's also a lot smaller than Sonnen, and his interviews aren't as entertaining.

Silva-GSP makes the most sense as if GSP wins, both fighters will have legitimately cleaned out their divisions.



Dont get me wrong, Silva vs the winner of Rua/Jones would be a great fight, but the fact that both Silva and GSP had cleared out the division makes that superfight much more interesting.



Also the fact that Silva and GSP are debated on the top P4P charts everywhere. That needs to be settled once and for all!

GSP doesn't stand a chance against Silva. If he doesn't fight Sonnen, Silva should fight Shogun vs Jones winner.

GSP doesn't stand a chance against AS, seriously people, size, speed, reach, agility. GSP been winning with decision against 170 div. can't imagine him beating AS. put GSP against one of the top 185 lbs first, to see how he do. wouldn't surprise me if he get his kick. there a reason y fighter goes down in weight to fight.

Lets clear some facts :

St-Pierre is 5'10" and weights 189lbs / fights at 170.

A. Silva is 6'2" and weights 220lbs / fights at 185.



- That's 4" and around 25-30lbs on weight for Silva.

- Silva vs St-Pierre would not be an even fight.

- Even if Silva beats St-Pierre that does not prove anything for the pound for pound rankings.

- p4p is a term to describe how any two things compare when bearing in mind their varying quantities,As these fighters do not compete directly judging the best fighter pound for pound is subjective

and its by simply making both fighters equal on size and weight and then letting the skills and ability determine the best of both.



- St-Pierre fighting Silva would only prove what everyone knows the bigger man with the equal training ( MMA ) would be the winner.



-the Lightweight Champion would not beat the Welterweight Champion and so on moving up in weight classes.



- a smaller opponent beating an equal level fighter bigger than him does prove the dominance and superior skills of a fighter making him clearly the better pound 4 pound fighter of the 2 but its highly unlikely to ever happen examples Bj vs St-Pierre, same would be with Silva and St Pierre.



- Silva being 6'2" and easily making 205 would be the best choice in a legacy perspective and a fans one.

I get your point on Silva being too big for GSP but as far as p4p you can look at finishing ability as a quality that would be greater than decisioning a fight since it proves in the end you win where as a decision just proves you can be dominant for 5 rounds.

Everybody wants Silva- GSP, but from GSP's POV he's not yet into changing weight classes, u might rather expect Rua-Jones winner or Okami more possibly.

If GSP beats Shields then give Silva GSP. It makes since the best two P4P fighters on the planet and it would be the biggest match in UFC history but the main reason they should do it is because GSP is willing to fight and stay at 185 if he wins atleast that is the situation according to Dana. GSP talks all the time about if he moves up he wants to get bigger first so I'm sure he will be heavier than his normal 189 on fight nights. Secondly people are complaining about the size difference between them, I dont see where its like big of a deal we've watched enough MMA to know that in this sport anything can happen.



2nd If it isn't GSP its gonna be Okami. Rua- Jones winner isn't even in the discussion for Silva. Silva wants to stay at Middleweight he has said that for about the past 2 years and has no desire to be the light heavyweight champion because he feels that is Machida and Little Nogs class and he doesn't want to interfere with there goal of being Light Heavyweight Champion.



I'd love to see him fight for the LHW title I just dont think he will ever do it because of his loyality to those guys.

silva vs jones/rua would be bull shit. what about all the other people in the divsion if he just walks up there and gets a shot straight away how un fair would that be. Give him other winner of rampage thiago silva. winner gets title shot

well he did already beat Forrest who was a former champ and who beat Shogun and he beat Franklin too who is now in the division. He beat Dan Henderson who was in that division as well and Cote so thats a few guys in the division that make a good statement as well as the fact he is a champ right now in his own division which he is uncontested.

Rua comes to soon for Jones he will lose and rise again to capture the titel at 25.



So my pick will be Silva versus Rua, the ultimate Brasiian war and it will take place in Rio It will be the kickstart of UFC in Brasil, millions more to market.

time for GSP vs Silva. ive been waiting for this fight for so long and now it finally makes sense... (if GSP beats Shields.................) But theres no one left for Silva in MW, yes Okami was the last person to beat Silva, but it was on a techincality and we all know what would happen the second time.
