UFC 124 Attendance and Bonuses
Posted on December 12, 2010, 12:35 AM by Anton GurevichUFC 124 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada promised and delivered a great night of MMA action. UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre defended his title for the fifth consecutive time, defeating Josh Koscheck via a Unanimous Decision. In the co-main event attraction of the night, Stefan Struve managed to TKO Sean McCorkle, as Mac Danzig, Jim Miller and Thiago Alves all grabbed important victories in other UFC 124 main card bouts.
UFC 124 broke the North American attendance record, with 23,152 spectators at the Bell Centre, which cashed in the promotion $4.586 million gate receipt. Despite early predictions, UFC did not break the World Attendance record and gate receipt record ($4.8 million). Dana White's promotion will return to Canada on April 30th with UFC 131, which will take place at the famous Rogers Centre in Toronto.
UFC also awarded 100,000$ bonuses for the top performers of the night. It's the biggest bonus since UFC 100, where fighters got the same amount of bonus money.

Is that really Koscheck in the pic?
wow i guess i have to give my respect to gsp
I don't think GSP and Kos should have gotten the fight of the night bonus. I mean it was a great fight, but it was too one sided to be the fight of the night. That's just my opinion though, not trying to offend anyone.
But if one sided decisions are out of the question then Riddle-Pierson would have won, Riddle was sloppy as hell. I liked Alves-Howard the most
Congrats to GSP, he really is the greatest ambassador of the sport today, but I agree with you on the fotn bonus, Alves-Howard.
Also while I was watching the Riddle-Pierson fight...I was thinking "what if the jugdes pull a "Phan-Garcia" tonight?
I agree. I would say Alves-Howard was FOTN.
GSP was too one sided to be FOTN. Kos didnt put up a fight at all, he was completely domianted.
Sure Alves was leading most the fight, but at least Howard got some hits in and at least put on the pressure, especially towards the end. Kos went down looking horrible in the end.
Remember the FOTN was actually voted by the fans.
i think it was fight of the night cause most of the fight was on the feet which made for an exciting fight compared to the "lay and pray" style of fighting. GSP showed he is dominant in all aspects of martial arts, such as striking, clinching, wrestling, grappling etc. which why i have GSP as the #1 p4p best fighter in the world to date.
yeah, the fight of the night should have definitely went to other fighters like Alves & Howard. I guess since fans got to vote for FOTN bonus, majority of the canadians voted for GsP.
Yeah, but what a ****ing card !!! I wasn't sure at first but it clearly deliver. One of my favorite card of the year. And the atmosphere looked incredible in the stadium.
Yeah probobaly go in my top 6 in event of this year.... Almost all card finished... Struved showed his ju jitsu....
GSP should do more trainging with Roach he gave him the confidence he needed to stand and fight like he should
