Whoa, hold on Brock, black belt? haha! I want to see him submit someone via gogoplata first.

90% of the blackbelts in MMA haven't submitted anyone by gogoplata. Not to say Brock should have a black belt, but I wouldn't necessary hold that as the standard.

Also, Dana White, you are an idiot. GSP has attained elite athlete status in Canada over the past few years, Wayne Gretzky was a national hero for 20+ years. Think before you speak. Also, GSP wouldn't even be in the top 5... Mario Lemieux, Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, Donovan Baley, Mark Messier, Steve Yzerman, Sidney Crosby, (about 20 more hockey legends), even Steve Nash ...I love GSP but you can't make that claim after only a few years in the spot light. Yea, these guys won't be recognized in the Philippines, but they are Canada's top athletes, not the Philippines. Bring the top Australian Rugby star of all time here, I’m sure no one knows them either. Dana is just irritating.

I dont know he makes a good argument. 1 thing about DW is, he is trying to build the UFC up to NFL status in the US, and Hockey status is Canada. It might be a little premature now but soon and very soon it wont be.

Fightings big in the phillipines so its a favorable example.

Go to hockey nations like Russia, Sweden, Czech Republic, etc. And way more people are going to know the hockey stars like Gretzky and Crosby over GSP.

Go to Spain and many people have heard Steve Nash. It has to do with the cultures.

All that being said im very proud of GSP no matter how famous he is in other countries.

I think its a silly debate. let athletes accomplishments speak for them self and to people that care about that sport. Thats what really matters.
