Personally i think is Bull that Frankie's paycheck is $48,000 per fight being the champ and having the record that he got in the UFC and the time in it, of course is doble if he wins, but still is low for being a Champion.

also Randy's Salarie is way too low i hope his getting PPV %.

I'm pretty sure Randy does and ya it's kinda sad seeing Toney make 500K (even tho he probably brought in that much revenue) when a main card fighter in Miranda made only 8K, I know im going all socialist here but wouldnt it be nice to just take 100 grand off Toney's salary and distribute it to all the other fighters making under 20 000.

    NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Just have a fighters' union so there is a regulation on how much fighters' can get paid. Also the union would implement safety precautions and rules to make MMA rules universal.

its bullchit for Toney to be GIVEN 500,000 no wonder he looked

a chick on prom nite, just completely being took advantage of

and couldnt do anything about it....no insensitive to train........ok..

the guy is a world class boxer and it is a combat sport but the guy

begged Dana for the fight, and cant get any boxers to fight him....

at least should of been 250,00 and double for win bonus maybe he

would of trained better....like a kick in the nuts for other fighters....

to have a greenhorn make more than half the main card.......

officially a freak show....Dana and them got it w/ a lil K Y so it didnt

hurt to bad but still got phucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the couture toney fight was the worst fight, and one i wasnt at all bothered about. dunno how others felt, but i was rooling in anticipation for the Penn/Edgar fight for days before it.

C'mon DW ffs, get a grip. People tune into to see quality not freakshows.

So... How much does James Toney usually make in a boxing match? I'm assuming if he's defending his IBA belt he probably makes a few million? Maybe he did do this out of interest, not greed?

Come to think of it, it was smart on his manager's part. I love mma, but I don't watch boxing. I might actually tune-in to Toney's next boxing match to see how he does in his own domain.

Toney definitely did it for the exposure. You are right, look at how many people are watching MMA versus Boxing nowadays. Toney saw an opportunity and exploited it. He will probably make a lot more money off of this fight because of the notoriety he gained by doing it. I wouldn't be surprised if he hardly trained at all for the fight, since he knew he only had a punchers chance and was in it altogether for a different bunch of reasons.

I wanna know why Edgar got less than BJ given Edgar is the champ, and gave the best disply of MMA in UFC this year IMO. And a dud like Toney gets how much????

The sooner these guys can get a union the better. Edgar you deserve every penny and many more unlike Toney who has nothing really to offer MMA.

I can understand BJ making more, he draws in the paperview buys. Edgar is still under-appreciated, hence why I don`t think Maynard/Edgar will draw too many buys on its own.

This is why everyone should BOYCOTT Dana White. Out of all the millions UFC 118 made, the fighters pay combine was only 1.6 million.Dana White has always and will always keep the money to himself!!!! That S**T doesnt happen in Boxing! Boxer make way more money and the promoters get less!!!!! The WAY IT SHOULD BE!!!!!

You guys have to remember, that the majority of their money is decided upon how much star power they have. Toney star power > Penn star power > Edgar star power.

Maybe to the new WWE fan base now in MMA but not to a knowledgable fan.

ive been watching MMA over 15 years... but the percentage of knowledgeable MMA is well under 20% of the people who watch the UFC to say that star power doesnt get PPV buys is just ****ing ignorant

Penn, Toney, & Florian; all losers, all making bigger paychecks.

Toney really pulled one over on Dana. SMDH

no Dana White probably made well over 5 million on toney alone... id say spending 500k to make 5 mil is a well thought out investment... and technically he shut up the boxing guru's for the time being.... you know the big debaters that say boxers are better than mma fighters

Even after getting his azzbeating he walked out of the ring not speaking to anyone. Hes loudmouthed, hes disrespectful and cant back it up.

    All traits you admire right?

T666 name oozes education let me tell ya.

If I was a billionaire I'd make my own MMA league, where winners get majority of purse, all comers welcome without having to sign their life away and title holders get automatic bonus for defending the belt.

I mean where is the incentive for new blood when they beat a string of world class opposition beat the best ever LW twice and a boxer who has nothing to offer MMA other than trash talk earns nearly ten times as much.

I think no matter who you are $50,000 should be minimum for a fight. These guys run a substantial chance of injury when training/fighting and there's no reason if they do just two/three fights a year they shouldn't be pulling six figures.
