Surprised nobody is talking about Alves not making weight.

For me it's a good thing now he just has to win tomorrow night. The reason I say that is I rather see GSP fight Shields as opposed to either of these guys again, and I can't see the UFC giving Alves the fight if he wins.

This is the second time he hasn't made weight. To me that's a problem. I'm pulling for Fitch.

Anderson Silva may have made fans unhappy, including myself, by not putting his full arsenal on display his last few fights, but he won those fights. What I don't understand is why as fans we give him so much slack for it, but when another premier fighter lays and prays in an uneventful fight it is ok. I mean even the epic fail of a fight Silva vs Maia had more action than Daley vs Koscheck, or Rampage vs Rashad, or the GSP vs Hardy fight. It seems that since he is on a pedestal revered as the most talented fighter in the UFC stable he can't have an off night. Every human on earth has an off night so get over it. Recent performances aside, this guy deserves credit for being an absolute stunning individual in his demeanor. He doesn't feed aggression with aggression. His personality is that of a child in its innocence. Seems like people envy that he has maintained his heart of gold throughout his life experiences up to this point. Many people lost that a long time ago and question his authenticity. Regardless, in the cage where his aggression has a home, he brings it better than anyone else. His last few opponents did not come in with the mindset to fight but to survive (exception of Maia to some degree), but Chael has talked himself into a position where he has to come forward and engage if he wants to retain any integrity. Should result in fireworks with Chael Sonnen being the firework that gets lit up tonight.

P.S.- Anderson special request from me. Kick him in the mouth as hard as you can please. If at all possible do it more than once. Thanks in advance.

Joe Silva failed us with the Fitch/Alves match up. Two dudes who already fought and both have lost to GSP... gimme Hardy vs Alves, or Fitch vs Shields, etc. something... there are lots of quality welterweights around (Alves vs Condit or Kampmann?).

Hey Knockout - at least GSP looks to finish and doesn't act like a clown... he maintains respect and behaves like a champ - Silva needs to take a page out of that book. Though, agreed that Sonnen has acted like a ****... it IS a business after all.
