With UFC 115 only days away, we take a look at the first main card of the night, Carlos Condit vs Rory Macdonald. There is no love lost between the two, with Condit already unhappy at being used as what he feels is a possible stepping stone for the relative newcomer Rory Macdonald.

Veteran Condit is no stranger to the cage. He enters the fight with a record of 24-5. He is a former WEC Welterweight Champion, and defended the belt 4 times before UFC took over the organisation. He has won 10 fights by KO, 13 by submission and 1 by decision. He is currently coming off the back of a split decision loss then more recenlty a split decision win. He has an excellent ground game and favours Muay Thai and Kickboxing when the fight is standing.

Macdonald, while only having a record of 10-0, enters saturdays fight with 4 KO's and 6 submissions. With an equal ground game, he is also a dangerous boxer on his feet. Macdonald is only twenty, and signed a 4 fight deal with UFC in January. His debut resulted in a submission win via armbar agains Mike Guymon.

According to LowPick, Condit is currenlty the clear favourite, with 150 votes, to Macdonalds 67. Overall a majority of 46 percent think the fight will go to decision, however with both fighters have a great ground game, dont be surprised to see a submission stopage.

Carlos Condit def. Rory MacDonald
via TKO (Punches) Round 3 4:53
Round 1: Okay, they touch gloves and the first bout of the evening is on. MacDonald catches a shot to take Condit down, but makes a little from this early opportunity... Macdonald looks calm and patient, and now takes Condit down for another time, and this time this was planned. MacDonald is very aggressive in Condit's guard, but the former WEC Champ is currently working an armbar, Rory Macdonaldo defends this attempt, but he is yet to deliver any ground and pound damage. They stand up to exchange blows, and this is Condit who connects with a very good right hook. Rory MacDonald responds with a very good combo of his own, but it looks like Condit is a better striker here. Rory MacDonald takes Carlos Condit down again, but again finds himself somehow uneffective on the ground. They stand up, as Condit unloads some powerful legkicks to keep MacDonald at the distance... the Canadian continues to be calm, and takes Condit down again. First round ends and it's a tough one to call, despite MacDonald's takedowns I'll still give this one to Condit 10-9.
Round 2: Second round begins, and it looks like we are going to have more of the same. Rory MacDonald does well and takes Condit down for another time, this time to the side control. MacDonald is looking for a dominant position, but Condit manages to scramble this one away back to the stand up. They exchange blows, as again, Condit's reach is the factor here as he keeps the Canadian away with legkicks and punch combos. This time it is Carlos Condit who takes Rory MacDonald down, but the Canadian manages to sweep directly to the guard. Again, MacDonald gets to the ground pretty easily, but does a very little from this opportunity. Stand up again, MacDonald unleashes a powerful left-right combination that somehow stuns Condit, who looks a little bit exhausted right now. Condit works his legkicks, but MacDonald begins to get a little bit closer past his reach. Almost double kick-knockout here, as the Second round ends. Tough fight to call, 10-9 Condit again.
Round 3: MacDonald begins a very aggressive Third Round, perhaps he believes that finishing Condit is the only way to win here. Condit is now on the top of MacDonald, cutting the Canadian with a vicious elbow. Full mount, and then a half-guard from Condit, whose experience is the factor here. Carlos Condit is punishing Rory MacDonald here, but The Waterboy manages to get up. Powerful combo at the fence from Carlos Condit, Rory MacDonald looks stunned... this cut has really hurt him. Carlos Condit continues to keep himself busy, Rory MacDonald is down, as Condit continues to punish him with Ground and Pound. Blood is dripping from MacDonald's eye, with Condit smelling a victory here. Condit is now in MacDonald's half guard. landing hammerfists and elbows... and eight seconds from the end of the fight, the referee stops the fight! Yes, it is a TKO victory for Carlos Condit. I understand the referee's decision here, as MacDonald failed to intelligently defend himself, but he could let the Canadian to survive these eight seconds and probably edge a decision. Good victory for Condit.
