UFC 114 Card Takes A Hit

With just over three weeks away from the highly anticipated UFC 114: Rampage vs. Evans it seems the card's co-main event, former light heavyweight champ Forrest Griffin vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueria, will not be "in the cards" for UFC fans after all.  Griffin has, as originally reported by TMZ.com, sustained a shoulder injury that will make him unable to compete in the May 29th event. With such little time remaining before the Pay-Per-View, which will be aired live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, there is no clear suitable replacement for the bout. Many fans will find this a disappointing blow to an otherwise stacked card, as many MMA fans thought this to be Griffin's toughest test to date, coming off of his decision victory over Tito Ortiz at UFC 106, merely 6 months ago.  A fight that had renewed a fan favorite who had been in a 2 fight losing slump.A successful outing over the highly praised and much decorated "Lil' Nog" would have most certainly been enough for one to assume the original Ultimate Fighter would be bolstered back into title contention.  However it appears that the winner of this bout will remain a truth untold, at least for now.
